A volatile conglomeration of emotions sweeps across the consciousness when your roommate stumbles in being drunkedly boisterous at three in the morning and you're the one everyone expects to calm him down and put him to bed. After genially accepting his slurred curses and declarations of affection you finally manage to get him to settle in his own bed and go to sleep. By now it's four in the morning and you know you need to awaken early for morning classes, so you go to lie down, expecting the conundrum to have been resolved. However, one final test of your patience makes itself known within a few minutes. Your roommate snores, and he snores more loudly than the rumbling of an engine block. The only emotion that persists now is resignation. There will be no sleep tonight.
