Brutal Orchestra is an interesting roguelike that uses turn-based combat instead of the "bullet hell" or deck builder systems that most do these days. I am a huge roguelike fan, and Brutal Orchestra brings a much-needed breath of fresh air to the genre.

Each party member has three possible unique abilities and can have a combination of two of them, giving a little bit of unique flavour to each run. The art is charming and disgusting at the same time, and is a delight to the sound. The music and visuals combine to create a very unique style that will keep you coming back. The gameplay has a lot of unique ideas it can put forth. Bosses usually have unique mechanics that keep you thinking and each battle is a puzzle as much as it is a fight.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a new addition to their roguelike library.

One of the most creative roguelikes I've seen in a while! Using your health for everything makes every single battle very tense! Highly recommend for anyone looking for an innovative roguelike that mixes up the formula.

First of all, I played Risk of Rain 1 before Risk of Rain 2 was even teased. I was huge into that game, it was so unique and interesting and I still don't think I've really played anything like that.

That being said, when Risk of Rain 2 was first released... I wasn't excited.
You see, I'm one of those weird hipsters that likes pixel indie games. I'm not very good at third or first-person shooters and (at the time, before I studied it in university) I didn't care for 3D graphics.

But Jesus, man. This game is just GOOD.

It's weird, it feels like it is simultaneously Risk of Rain 1 with just more content- but at the same time, it feels like it completely reinvented the idea.

This game has very charming graphics. It has a nice style that doesn't care about realism and instead leans into the cartoony feeling that gives it such a nice hold against many modern shooters. The lore of this game keeps you thinking and wanting to know more.

But ultimately, it's just fun. It's really, really fun. If you're a rogue-like fan like me consider putting down Binding of Isaac for just a bit and give this game one run.

You won't regret it.
