Such a chill game. I remember when it first released on Steam and I really wanted to like it but it just wasn't my type of game yet.

But the years went by, and I've come to love these games. Came in at Ryza 2 on PS5, now I'm all over the place with the Atelier games.

The balance of gathering, exploring, combat, and alchemy is awesome. Yes, there's a lot of reading/cutscenes, but it completely adds to the vibe.

And it's been awesome working my way back in the series. Truly amazing how long it's been going strong <3

Fun game, wish it would let me uninstall tho. It's stuck in perma "uninstalling" status. Cant cancel, cant reinstall, and finish "uninstalling". Deleted source files and reboot and game STILL listed as installed but "uninstalling", had to hide from library and pretend it doesn't exist :( :'(

Wish I could give more time but something about the camera when it follows the character gets me too nauseated to play. I will say tho, after that intro, I really was digging the neo future setting. Definitely Res vibes, and a sure recommend to those looking for a throwback to the good Ole days, just sadly kept making me sick. I refuse to say it's because I'm getting old.. aye yi yi.

Great work dev! Here's to hoping I can give another shot sometime and not get nauseated xD

For me, game has a TON going for it. Reminds me of Sekiro and Ghost of Tsushima but with a Lords of the Fallen/Elden Ring twist.

Best part? It's hard, but not souls-like hard. You have to focus on the bosses, but it feels great. It's gorgeous, plays smooth, and the skill tree is awesome. Just enough RPG to satisfy the itch, yet enough "souls" to make me invest. Love the Fable-esque vibes of monkeys/wolves/etc. pertaining to the setting/lore.

Very much impressed of overall quality and depth. Definitely a GOTY runner up. We'll see how it holds up as I crunch in the time soaking up what it has to offer <3

Early Access Review
Nostalgia. Grew up playing this, Total Annihilation, and Age of Empires 2. There are a good many RTS games out there--Supreme Commander, AoE4, AoM, etc. etc., but I will say this:

Battle Realms is unique and alone.

Peasants must be trained into troops. Troops can learn abilities. Heroes can be summoned for battle-specific bonuses, and men become women in the Bathhouse (looking at you team Dragon) lol

This game is more than spamming the strongest troop. Towers are actually critical defenses. Horses truly add to your army.

But none of that means anything if you just blindly charge. Learn your fronts. Learn your maneuvers. Learn your strengths and avoid your weaknesses.

LOVE this game. So glad to see it being worked on in this Steam version. One of these centuries, Battle Realms 2 will be a thing and the world will be a better place <3

Got it for me and the kids, but I find I'm wanting to play it more than them xD Was turned off at first from the kingdom building but its actually not hindering. The game offers just enough change up from small maps, overworld, and troops fights--it's been a blast.

Just overall a fantastic family game. Combat, spells, story, characters-- very pleased with this game. Excited to go back and play through the first one after this. Runs awesome on my Deck, even when mostly docked <3

This game is gorgeous. The cast is awesome. Cloud and Aerith are bae and I'm so glad this made its way to PC! I've been playing between the Deck and desktop and its been flawless. Deck runs smooth even when docked to a 4k TV. Game handles like a gem with controller and I highly recommend controller.

FFVII has been around, but if this is your first step into FF and first time through FFVII, I highly recommend. Game is highly enjoyable on easy if you want to sit back and enjoy the combat/adventure. FF games have always been about the adventure to me, but that's coming from one who hasn't played ever FF yet.

Love the combat of this game and the ability to switch between characters. Using Access during combat and switch to the right roles/elements to exploit it are a blast. It's just got so much RIGHT with it, the game is a true pleasure.

And it has Aerith. So 'nuff said.

Played through when it released on PS4 and now digging round 2 on PC/Deck! Here's to hopes the sequel hits PC sooner than later as well! :D

Game is fully controller supported from what I've played. I also play across tablet, Playstation, and phone/Backbone. So yeah, no idea why Steam has it listed as no support xD

It's a more anime-ic version of Genshin Impact and the combat mechanics are very fun! Timing the dodge and entering stasis mode is soooo fun and I love comboing weapon swaps! The game has a lot to offer if you want to dive into it but also stays casual. Big win for me because I'm here to unwind and chill, not compete and challenge.

Definitely recommend so far. Three hours in and I can say there has been a loooot set up for the story to grow into and around. The narrative, while not the central focus, is just enough where I feel accomplished with each session, but not stressed about the slow progression :)

I'm 9 hours in now and man do I appreciate this gem. I've started unlock weapon upgrades and finally equipment. Love that you can "change" your appearance with the "persona" of certain weapons but you can also still retain your characters look if you don't want to switch. Character creator was a blast and I've gone though it a few times. Nice that you can enter back in for cosmetics/hair colors even after you've started.

Thus far, however, my favorite part is that it doesn't feel fetch-questy yet to the point where to world is irrelevant. I still like exploring. I still like running into camps for loot. The loot balance is really fun. Then again, I'm only scratching the surface still, so a ton may change once I start finishing the main-story events. We'll see, but I'm enjoying and it's a good kick-back-and-chill game.

EDIT: 50 hrs in on PC and another 30+ on mobile and man alive and dead do I adore this game. Still a blast to explore, STILL exploring. Seriously tho, PC takes the cake easily here. The graphics are through the roof. Just finished a huge clash in the Vera arc and MAN was it cool.

This is my chill game. Boot up, lean back, switch to controller, and just EXPLORE. I will say that entering late game, it is DEFINITELY pushing you toward the importance of staring your weapons. The damage boost is massive when leveling them up with duplicates. I will also say that I'm STILL learning the sheer amount of currencies in this game. Totally get it if people are overwhelmed by it. Finally found where to purchase weapon duplicates, even if in limited supplies. Has helped tons!

Great game. It's satisfying the itch.

EDIT: 100 hours in. Bruh. So. Much. Chill. Late game definitely has emphasis on either gatcha or exploration. Thankfully, i still have enough exploration to adventure through as the game is massive and still so chill. However, now at lvl 100 and I can tell if i'm wanting to truly max out a kit, it'll take either massive amounts of time or gatcha-thons.

Yes, you can do it without paying, but it all depends on what is in rotation. I will eventually reach a point where only money will let me keep investing, but for the meantime, really digging the worlds, setting, and character reveals/drops. Game is absolutely been a blast and I see myself still sinking quite some more time into this <3

Tried going back to Genshin but man is the mobility/combat addictive in this game. Bring. It. On.

If you liked Bioshock Infinite, this game is gonna nail it for you. Truly does feel like a cross between Bioshock and Fallout and I love it!

Only just started and am bouncing between Game Pass and PC to get a good feel for the game between the two. Can't wait to dive deeper though!

Digging the setting and atmosphere. Here's to hoping it holds up throughout the game! Cause I absolutely recommend it thus far :D

UPDATE: Just finished at 26 hours in. Man alive what a trip. Ending was only the beginning?? Seriously, if not for the dizziness in some of the puzzles leading to severe nausea, game would be an easy 9/10. As is though, I'd probably go with 8/10. Awesome journey, great world, crazy cool ideas/setting, but the nausea made for long breaks between sessions. Must be getting old??

Na, can't be me :S

Absolute win of a game. Huge long-time fan of AoEII and this one takes it and improves so much, yet still distinguishes itself enough to justify bouncing between the two. AoEIV is probably my present fav AoE simply from some of the new features they added, though the nostalgia of AoEII could never be replaced.

Mounting walls, using siege only to break them, meshing unit types--there's a lot going for this and I'm excited to dive into it. Also excited about the new civs coming to it and hope they expand upon the diversity of specialties <3
