The game in the current state is nowhere close to acceptable. I understand EA and all but not having the possibility of customising the game controls is NOT NORMAL in a game released in 2024 for 30 [insert your currency here]. My interest in the career mode was immediately shattered when I realised that you will not be dealing with actual currency, cost, price of tickets, price of trams and infrastructure. Instead everything seems to be based on the public's satisfaction and your level progression, which increases when you drive your routes. It's so much designed for consoles that the PC UI feels unnecessarily boxed and forcing you to use keyboard shortcuts to navigate it or a controller. The driving experience itself seems to be ok but Tram sim Vienna had pretty much the same felling when driving the tram, but with a much more sensible control scheme, and you could customise it if you wanted to. Hints and tips are still embedded into the UI even if you turn them of (I know I have to close the damn doors, I don't need the top left bar to constantly tell me to). Speed limits are also permanently displayed, even though the tutorial teaches you all you would need to know to turn them off. Timings are also permanently displayed even if you can easily read the info from the IBIS in front of you. In general the game is 100% designed for casual gamers, not simmers or people with extensive playtime in their previous games, which can be fine IF the option to get rid of all these frills was there. No customizability of the tram livery at all except for the logo. City feels fake (it is), even if having real world brands is a nice addition. Stuttering is frequent, game audio issues as well. You'll often find yourself driving with no tram noise except when going over the points or when interacting with the controls (doors, blinkers etc)

Maybe the developers will bring it around and get it to a decent enough state, but how things stand it's a hard pass for me, and if you're coming from previous sims it should be for you too.

This Game is Spectacular. It's entertaining, delightful, very well written, funny when it wants to be funny, deep when it wants to be serious. If you liked papers please, you'll love this game, and dear god I am enjoying the heck out of it!

Possibly the best roller coaster tycoon out there, even better than the one actually called RCT :D

Right folks, first of all, as we all know by now steam made a freaking mess with this game.
to be able to mod the game even slightly you'll need the 1.5 version that you can get only buying the U-Boat missions expansion pack, so in my opinion don't even think of getting the base game and leave it in vanilla state because, even though it is a very good game on it's own, you should really donwload TMO 2.5 And RSRDC (run silent run deep campaign) to get a ''full'' experience.

The game is now 8 years old but it still holds very well, and let me say that for me it's the last Silent Hunter game because SH5 was a giant pi*s take on the entire series.
So if you are new to this franchise it's a sub sim (duh :D) and this is probably the best one, on par with sh3.

There are really few bugs, I hardly found any in all my playtime and also it's a proper fuc***g SH game:
the aming sistem is good, it's pretty much the same as the sh3 one and you can have an auto-lock for beginners so that your torps aim automatically at the target or you can have the complex one wich is only for advanced players and the game itself does a good job on explaining how it works

the graphics are OK for an 8 years old game and they can get as pretty as sh5 with jus a couple of mods.
The game has all of the features it should have and it's far better than that apsolute w**k that sh5 is.
