I picked up this game now that it left early access but was disappointed with some of the gameplay and some buggy interactions.

Although the game is now at full release, it still feels like its missing a little bit of polish. Occasional graphical abnormalities and some odd interactions with end of turns some effect interations. One that kept annoying me was that the reflect damage effect (silvered) did not trigger unless it dealt health damage to Noah, which i understand may be a decision. But then, when using oath with a familiar to share damage, even if Noah takes health damage after sharing, it does not trigger the silvered damage on the boss. I also had quite a few cases of the boss attack indication not seeming to represent what it actually ends up doing.

In terms of gameplay, I enjoy the burning cards for mana and system that revolves around it but I'm not sure about balance. I was unable to get barely through the game with the obsidian relic but then switched to the glow book and was able to create an unkillable run instantly. However, fights against harder enemies can go on for far too long, by the end of the game I was guaranteed to win a fight and heal to full health but it would take at least 15 turns which ended up with 20 minute encounters repeatedly especially on elites. There could do with some way of speeding up the game, especially when many fights may incentivise you to stall to prepare for a later phase of an exorcism resulting in dead hands being played that still take a while to process.

With an extra point on experiencing the difficulty difference between the starting item, it felt that damage was not feasibly avoidable, it was almost certain to take damage (and sometimes a lot) on each fight. This makes healing feel like a requirement, especially when getting into longer fights where I took 4 times my health bar in damage over the course of a fight.

In summary, I really want to like the game. I'm a big fan of the setting, art, battle concept, and battle mechanics. I'd just like to seem the game receive some more polish and bug fixing, I was a bit disappointed in the quality as I had been waiting for it to leave early access to experience the full thing as it was intended and without issues or bugs.

Put plenty of hours into the game and has a lot of deep strategies. Even if you don't want to be the best it can still be fun with friends and plenty there especially for a free game. The issues I find is that it can be a pain playing alongside random people as there is often a lot of hate, this is why i recommend getteing a group of friends because playing as a group allows the game to be more fun and relaxing whilst you can also preform better coordinated, it also means you can experiment with silly ideas which is also very fun.

Hard to get into, not for everyone but you if you don't like it at first you may just need to power through until you get the hang of it. YouTube tutorials will always be useful and can vary from pure information to also being entertaining.
