Losing is fun.

Not played enough of this game to fully understand it or give a comprehensive review but all I can say is that it is immense, incredibly confusing at first but you pick it up quickly and is designed to generate stories. Best way to describe this game is with anecdotes.

When 3 of my Dwarves were all mysteriously drained of blood and I thought it was all just random animal attacks and armed everyone to the teeth but then I accidentally pressed the Justice menu which I didn't even know existed, found out there were 14 witnesses to my tavern keeper murdering the first guy, so I arrest him, he's released 300 days later, drains someone else's blood and then in interrogation reveals he's the head of a gang who tried to influence the higher power of another fortress (failed) and also has attempted to influence an "unknown creature" to steal some bird shaped object from me like 10 times (each of which counts as a separate crime I can convict him of)

This game looks really confusing and a bit boring but it is really fun when you get into it, Its the granddaddy of all your games give it a chance.
