"Old" Woman Using VR for Recovery
43 year old ech Junkie from a family of engineers, beta tester, Amazon Vine Reviewer, and obsessed with biomedical research and medicine in general. My pursuit of VR experiences is an effort to improve issues I have with PTSD and anxiety, improve some of my traumatic brain injury systems (sustained in a 30+ foot fall onto granite boulders in a bicycle accident that also left me with 9 fractures to my neck and upper back), enjoy activities I can no longer do, and possibly improve things in a couple of other areas as well.

I was playing campaign-style games on a PC from the time I was 9 years old. I've been online since I was 9 as well, initially using a 300 bd modem that required a phone handset to connect, and all that was available were BBS's (essentially the same as is seen in the movie "War Games." When I was 13, I was using what may have been the first internet-based store, a BBS known as Compact Disk Connection. I was using IRC and newsgroups since 1993, and created my first web page in 1994,
