with 4k hours in EU4 I picked this up expecting it to be a fun improvement on the game that I love. The game might be really good after a few years (and a lot of paid DLC) but currently feels very bland. Every country plays almost exact same way. Most of the unique governments are so terrible that most players just remove them on day 1, the events are almost all the same no matter who you're playing, and it feels like the devs have a personal vendetta against playing wide. Integration and pops may be more "realistic" but from a gameplay perspective its tedious and annoying. Personally not my cup of tea, I'll keep playing eu4.

I'm not sure if the vision that the developers have for this game will be enjoyable. Outside of the league mechanic for fate of the vaal being bad, GGG wants to make this game difficult and souls like while maintaining a level of rng that makes the entire thing feel bad. I'm hoping the dropping player numbers for this league will finally get them to reverse a lot of the decisions that they are so set on.
