Early Access Review

First off, I want you to understand that this is a very small dlc in terms of content, afterbirth+ is pretty much, like the name indicates, afterbirth with a little more content and modding support.

Okay, with that aside, let's talk about the dlc.

Items:
Most of the items that i have encountered so far have been pretty fun, from flaming tears, electric tears and some cool orbitals to active items like Void, which add a ton of possibilities to mess around with, overall I think that the items are good and most of them fun.
Yes, there are not a lot of them, but again, this was not the main selling point of the dlc.

Enemies:
The new enemies are basically alt forms of some other ones, like the spiders in the wall, or the big fat babbies. So it doesn´t add a lot of variety.
Some of the reviews claim that the portals are unbalanced, and that they are incredibly annoying to fight, which I honestly think that that is a complete exageration, yes they can be tough to fight if you are underpowered, but in no way they are op.

Bosses:
The new bosses added are fun to fight, except maybe one (who is incredibly hard in my opinion), and the new alt forms of older ones add tons of extra variety to the boss encounters.
The final boss of the last chapter is a bit overpowered in my opinion, but the fight is fun and lore wise also fits well into the Isaac narrative.

Greedier mode and new challenges:
As of right now, I haven't tried the Greedier mode, but I've heard from friends playing the game that it's a way harder version of Greed mode, with less coins and including champion versions of the enemies.
The new challenges are fun and interesting, I really enjoyed all of them.

And finally..
Dev tools:
This is something that as of right now I can't really review, since mods are not going to be ready from the get go.
BUT!
The tools, while they might be needing a bit more of documentation and polish, will help the community to develop many kinds of fun items, enemies, rooms and whatever they come up with, adding tons of value to the game.
Also, the best mods are going to be integrated to the game each month, in the form of booster packs. So yeah, more and more and more content.

As you can see, while the mod is not huge in terms of content, it adds a lot of potential content in the form of mods, while also adding a bit of content to keep you satisfied.

In my honest opinion, it's a good dlc and I recommend it to everyone (keep in mind that you need to have afterbirth in order to be able to buy afterbirth+). If you don't feel like the dlc adds enough, you might as well wait a couple of months to see how the modding develops and make a desicion afterwards.
