Hole is a rare game; a single player extraction shooter, where you are asked to enter a liminal space populated with armed gunmen and extract with as much money and data as you can collect before you are overwhelmed. This game is above all a proof of concept and a very convincing one at that. I eagerly await the future game that will be built on the bones of this extremely fun combat system.

I did not expect a silly crab souls-like to find a place in my heart right next Sekiro, but here I am. Everything about the art design and writing oozes charm, and the combat system is pretty close to ideal for me, offering the same sort of Sekiro style power fantasy of bein a lil' guy standing your ground and parrying the world. Aside from some mild jank with the camera and an unremarkable soundtrack, I have only effusive praise to give this game. My only desire is the ability to have rematches against all of the bosses, preferably with your full arsenal, and perhaps new game+; the combat is so much fun when your entire tool kit is unlocked that I just want to play around with it more.

One of the best co-op shooter experiences ever made, with an actually fair monetization model and a streamlined content pipeline that makes it one of the few truly "live service" games.

A lovingly crafted "Analog Horror" game in which you will answer the phone calls of concerned homeowners who have discovered, among other things, that a creature has stolen their face and pranced off into the forest with it. You can help these poor people, probably, by identifying what particular ghoul is currently hitting the griddy on the corpse of their beloved house pet.

Run screaming through the rusted industrial hallways of abandoned moon bases to steal cans of Pepsi from horrid alien creatures.

Do NOT play this game. Once it gets its hooks into you, it won't be long before you start practicing your aim, learning the movement quirks and wall jumps, chugging medkits, and clicking heads. Then, before you know it you'll be so good that your hairline will start to recede and you'll go bald. Every exceptional player in the history of the game has started to lose their hair prematurely, this is an undisputed fact; exercise extreme caution that you never git gud at Planetside 2, always stay bad.

Evolve is a superbly balanced, incredibly fun competitive style asymmetic hunting game. Price and DLC notwithstanding, you should probably buy this game at some point as it is a fairly unique experience to play, just maybe not right now unless you really liked the beta and alpha. Wait until it's on sale perhaps, $60 is pretty steep for a multiplayer only game.
