This is easily the best COD to release since BO2. The only COD that came close (imo) was Cold War. MW2 receives a solid 11/10 from me.

Now you may be wondering, "If the game is so good, why the negative review?"

Let me paint you a picture.. I applied the gunship killstreak to my loadout for the first time ever and jumped into a game of invasion to grind out the longshot requirement for platinum weapon camos. That same game I was ON FIRE!!! No one could touch me! I got my kills and jumped into the gunship. With this being my first ever gunship I was STOKED! The beautiful killstreak animation began and my heart started to race. I couldn't wait to rain hell upon the battlefield. The SECOND the animation ended and I took control of that big a** gun my game froze. Seconds later I get the dreaded "The application has unexpectedly stopped working" error. It took every ounce of my existence to NOT pull a summit1g and punch the virtual daylight out of my monitor. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time my game has crashed and ruined an AWESOME experience in multiplayer, DMZ, and even warzone...

With 206 hours at the time of this review, I have crashed upwards of 150 times. That's almost ONCE AN HOUR!!! And guess what? When your game crashes, you don't get XP for the match you were in. Any XP tokens you have active are completely wasted if you don't finish your game. It has been a month since launch, and the infuriating "The application has unexpectedly stopped working" error has yet to be resolved.

I'm running a 3070ti and a i9-11900k. My PC should not be having any issues running this game. I have verified my game files dozens of times and I've reinstalled the game entirely more times than I'm happy to admit. My drivers are up-to-date, I've lowered my graphic settings.. I've spent upwards of 10 hours attempting every "fix" I can locate online with no success. I am absolutely baffled that my console friends are having significantly less issues than I have encountered thus far.

All-in-all, this is a fantastic game that I will continue to play despite the constant crashing. Until this issue has been fully resolved my review will remain negative, and COD MW2 will not be receiving a nomination for the Steam Awards from me.

11/10 - Very fun,

I'd avoid purchasing this game until significant improvements have been made. Even at a discounted price, the current state of the game is not worth the $$.

Update: Game is still garbage 6 months later.

Update: Game is still garbage 17 months later. Buy battlebit instead.

Update August 2025: Installed game to try and get the BF6 unlocks done. Loaded into a game. Played for less than 5 minutes before uninstalling. No reward is worth playing this garbage game. DO NOT BUY, EVEN FOR $3 IT IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE.
