As someone who has never played Oblivion (although I should've but couldn't afford too) as a kid, Bethesda has perfectly captured the essence of what it was like to experience an open world game for the first time. Although it is a remaster to some, and to those they will say the same, Oblivion has taken me back to my first days booting up Skyrim and seeing a vast open world with limitless things to do. I was hesitant to give Oblivion a go after all these years because the games now a days are all beautifully designed with amazing graphics and gorgeous scenery, I did not want to have my first time through this game be torn asunder by the basic graphics which back in 2006 would've been amazing experience first hand, but now would've led me astray with the over saturation of Unreal Engine 4/5 games that scratch that itch. Oblivion remasted/remade in Unreal engine 5 makes me feel as if I have jumped into a whole new world, an escape as Skyrim did for me in 2011. Playing this game with the literal UNREAL graphics of a game made in 2025 whilst still capturing the simplicity of a HUD for a game in 2006, with fluid motions, graphics and rendering has completely overtaken me and I feel myself kicking my feet at just looking at every minor detail in the game thinking to myself: "Was this really a game released in 2006, damn I REALLY missed out". However, due to Bethesda and the team and Virtuos, they've allowed me, one of the few, who have never experienced a "first play through" with a masterpiece such as Oblivion, to get my "First Playthrough" and have my Elder Scrolls cherry popped ALL over again. Just as the time in 2011 with Skyrim, I'm feeling a full sense of immersion, glee and happiness to experience something masterfully done that hundreds and thousands claim to the be their favourite game of all time, for myself. Bethesda, Virtuos, you guys have scratched that unreacheable itch us Elder Scrolls fans have been BEGGING for through all the patient years of waiting for ES6 or an Unreal Engine 5 of Skyrim with the Brand "Not So" New Remake/Remaster of Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. I give you my utmost and highest praise. No game on any platform has led me to leave a review, but this? This was the straw that broke my back to give you the craziest of glazes. I applaud you all.
