FTL has a learning curve, but it's completely worth the time and effort. It provides a fairly good take on crysis management. During times of terror, you cannot lose your focus.

At times, many crysis can occur at once, and it's up to the player to keep calm and resolve the issues at hand one by one. Similarly, any little error can cause your crew to be blown to oblivion...Not enough fighters on your ship? You'll lose the fight. No missles to blow past your enemy's developed shield? You'll lose the fight.

It's a worthwhile game with a lot of replayability and is very rewarding when you succeed!
