Early Access Review
Had about 50 hours across the playtests, and I will be playing 10x that now that the full game is out. Phenomenal game. 5gb small but packed full of fun, challenging content to play with friends or alone. Performance is a lot better than it was in the playtests. Buy it, play it.

A stellar game marred by persistent performance issues due to Unreal Engine 5 being an unoptimized engine, furthered by the game not being optimized around anything less than a 4070.

This has the potential of being the best entry in the series. The dialogue is good, the gunplay is sensational, the build variety is excellent, the characters are all distinct with their own personalities, niches, strengths and weaknesses. The world can feel a bit empty, but this is remedied by opening the map, using your eyes and looking at all the POIs.

I have an inordinate amount of times in the other games in the series, about 600 in Borderlands 1, upwards of 5000 on Borderlands 2 and about 500 in Borderlands 3. This game blows 1 and 3 out of the water and rivals 2, only losing out on story but beats it in mechanics and variety ten-fold. Also performance.

On the point of performance, my PC meets the MINIMUM requirements for this game. I play on low with DLSS set for quality, the game looks good and I get 60-70fps in the open world, but the drops down to 30-40 in large gunfights, but thats not much of an issue since endgame, even the hardest content out right now rarely lasts longer than 5 minutes. I think most peoples issues would very easily be remedied by people turning down their graphics settings, cranking up their DLSS a bit (ew) and sitting tight for optimization improvements.

In summation, very good game though I admit I'm likely very biased being a lifelong borderlands series fan. But this game is a step in the right direction. The writing is back to being funny with a slight edge, the characters and cast are diverse. Gameplay, gunplay and movement flows very well. I'm incredibly excited to see what the future brings for this game with major story DLC, Invincible bosses and other additional content, with Pearlescent weapons making their return after over a decade of being MIA and I SINCERELY hope they live up to the way there were in Borderlands 1, less so in 2.

Very fun game. Right now i'd give it a 7/10. If I had a better PC, it'd be 8/10 and once DLC is out, if its not a miss, I can easily see this game becoming a 9/10.

This game is no where near as bad as most of the negative reviews say it is. Don't treat it like a standalone game, more like an expansion to NFS Heat. Wouldn't buy it for non-sale price, but got it on sale and its incredibly fun.

Pros.
The police is substantially less annoying than it was in NFS Heat, very easy to escape them.
Selection of cars and modification options is great, like base NFS Heat with new cars, new parts and better models and designs.

Handling model is arcade-y and float-y with a pretty big emphasis on drifting a-la Mario Kart, but traditional full grip, line-based racing is rewarded, unlike in NFS Heat.

Cartoon aspect of the game is minimal, and it adds a little unique flair when preforming certain actions such as getting boost, doing burnouts and preforming stunt jumps.

No differentiation between daytime races awarding cash and nighttime races awarding EXP for leveling, you just unlock more cars and more modifications as you progress and start to get higher tier races. Very good and welcome change

Not pros, not cons.

Dialogue in this game is very zoomer, but this is a NFS game, dialogue and story was never good or interesting.

LGBT billboards in the game, always very nice to see but if you can't bear to see or acknowledge people who aren't straight or cisgender, they're very unintrusive and mostly around the main city.

Cons.
No fast travel, lots of driving around from race to race, especially annoying when there is more than one race you want to do at a meet-up spot.

Crashing slightly throws you into a full crash animation EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. This is the most annoying part of the game.

Money is slow to get and harder to come by than in NFSH.

Tl;dr dont listen to most of the negative reviews for this game, get it for yourself on sale, play it, race, go fast, modify, paint, enjoy. this game is great fun and very nicely stylised.

I have an unhealthy obsession with this game. I have a few hundred hours in this game and i've never played it with anyone else but myself. Good game, genuinely recommend it to anyone who's looking for a way to kill a few million brain cells while mindlessly farming a gun you don't need for like 4-5 hours
9.5/10 stop review bombing this game because your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stink of stilton cheese

Having spent a canny few hours on this game, I feel like I'm able to talk about this game very freely. I've 100%'ed the game at this stage, YES, even the new update.

This game is fun, very very fun. But it's the most punishing rouge-like game I've ever played. If you don't know boss firing patterns and room spawns off by heart, you die. You use the wrong weapons, you die. You roll too much, you die.

But once you get past the extreme skill curve that each floor and secret floor offers, it becomes the single most fun game to ever exist. With multitudes of synergies and weapons that influence if you win the game or not, you can feel free to pick and choose weapons as you see fit or even destory chests and do a run only with junk. The possibilities in this game are endless.

If you have a spare 15$ please pick this game up, I promise you wont regret it!

11/10 amazing game
