Some really great humor and dialogue, by far the game's strongest points are in its jokes.
The music is also really well done! Themed for different stages, its always adapting to your environment and helps set the mood. Combat is really simple and easy to pick up, and the puzzles, while not particularly challenging, are still satisfying.

Some things that could be improved
- While I love how fast Turnip Boy moves, the travel back and forth for some side missions is a little repetitive.
- The controls are kind of odd, I ended up rebinding to a more traditional arcade style; WASD for movement and J K L for actions. Only having Xbox and Playstation "modes" is a bit weird, but I didn't mind since I could just rebind it on my keyboard to something better.
- I think having some sort of quest "log" would be helpful for keeping track of sidequests. This depends on whether the dev's prefer the "remember the NPC's" style, but I ended up getting lost sometimes as I forgot about NPC's quests.

Overall, a really strong indie title, extremely charming and cute as well as sardonic and well written.

As someone who has been following this game's development for over 3 years as a fan, its hard to say I'm not excited and a little biased when I give this game a positive review. However, after giving it some legitimate playtime, I can concretely say this is one of the best Indie Adventure games out there, with strong game mechanics and beautiful pixel art that embraces simplicity.

Some things that could need reworking are the controls, as sometimes it can be awkward on keyboard/mouse to grab, throw and use directional input at the same time.

The minigames are really well done, with certain timed sections as well as Fishing and Cooking minigames that are reminiscent of Stardew Valley's minigame aesthetic. The story is JAM PACKED with amazing fantasy plotlines and cute moments between characters.

This game is absolutely fitting for it's Indie Game 20$ pricetag, and you get a LOT of content. As my hours AFTER review will surely show, theres alot more yet to come.

This is a great game for those who like Paradox-esque gameplay but want somthing a bit more simplistic and less mentally draining. Really fun, lots of amazing development tools and for history nerds who like to game, this is right down your alley. However, the AI isn't the best, and there is a learning curve to understanding how to manage your money but I would still give this game a 3/5, pretty good game.

For those just scrolling through, Its awesome and buy it.

For those reading these and seeing how much people care about this game, its true. This game lives up to the hype HARD.
Its so enchanting and its really an experience. You start out really bad, and your gear sucks and just going through it hunky-dory and all of a sudden skip an hour in and you got some pretty cool new items and you can kill enemies alot faster. give it another 3 ours and depending on which of 3 totally diffrent campaigns you pick you have your own set playstyle and feel like its a pretty rad time to boot up shovel knight. The entire experience is calculated with every step of the way adding new secrets and rewarding curious players and no way is the wrong way. There are so many diffrent approaches to the game that every aspect is unique to you.

Being as my personal favorite is Plague Knights campaign, I want to make clear that all of these are good and most of all, diverse. Its all good. Just buy this game, It will be the best 25 bucks you ever spend.

AND THE SOUNDTRACK DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED. WHO NEEDS SPOTIFY! This thing is amazing!

Absolutly fantastic

Its fun, with some good long term elements rather than the average 1 hour clicker. Most dont likethese kinds of games, but I genuinly enjoy them when they are done right. By far my favorite clicker, its certainly staying in my library.
