Started HZD expecting a generic open-world rpg like the ones we've very much gotten used to over the past ~8 years. I couldn't have been further from the truth .

I'm glad my expectations weren't correct, because this game blew me away. Yes, it is an open world RPG, but it is not filled with unnecessary bloat that artificially inflates its lenght but rather, it contains only meaningful, satisfactory quests complemented by an exquisite storyline that makes a lot of other sci-fi look mediocre in comparison.

Story is brilliantly paced, reveals come at the right times and there's just enough information on everything for you to piece the lore together as you go. And Aloy, she's cool!

Solid game, absolutely worth your time and for a ~20 hour playthrough of the story it is absolutely worth picking up on a sale too.

Now onto Forbidden West, when that's a bit more affordable lol.
