This game was my proper introduction to fighting games. In SF6 I could finally understand combos, neutral, all the fighting game terminology and tech.

This game made it so I can finally consider getting into other fighting games besides the casual stroll through the Mortal Kombat story mode.

It does such a good job onboarding new players to the genre, as most other fighting games kind of assume you already know how to play these games so you end up just button mashing and getting your ass handed.

The tutorials are great, world tour while kinda ass storywise it serves as a "playable" tutorial for the game as it teaches you how to make combos, use specials and supers in intuitive ways.

Also, Chun Li in swimsuit...

its great but need to sink a few hours to get used to the systems. gameplay is very fun. dont come in expecting a witcher 3 or red dead level narrative b/c you will be sorely dissappointed and likely the reason for the mixed reviews of the critics.

Also this game has a huge problem of presenting a boss and then putting it as a normal enemy in the very next room. It happens A TON once you enter late game. It's mind numbing and full of inconvience.

What this game is good at, it's good, what this game is bad at, it's terrible. Only buy if you are a big souls-like fan and during a sale. Play without expectation of something amazing.

This game is amazing, everything surrounding the gameplay is exceptional except for how terrible and convoluted the multiplayer system is.

I'm giving it thumbs down for now because of how terrible it runs, this game ONLY looks great when its run at least at high settings in native resolution without any upscaling (unless you are using DLSS4) and with high resolution texture pack, something that can only be done in a extremely small subset of systems. Even then when looking great it stills falls short in the technical level in relation to other current gen games out there, with the performance that it gives that is. The game should in average run around 40-100% better than it does when taking that into that account.

If the game runs at least 30% better in the future I will switch this up to a thumbs up.
