There have been a few pieces of media that have made me feel some sort of way this game right here was one of them. From learning about this game from a random video from Gawr Gura back in 2021 and checking it out for myself and falling in love with the game right there and then. To now see it released after so many years is crazy to think about. Now granted there are flaws to this game. I’m not going to pretend it is a masterpiece but it surely is close to being one. One of those problems I had with the game was the bugs which would ruin part of the game for me, there was this one bug where I was getting soft locked which made me have to notepad to fix itself. From the look of it seems the dev fixed most of the bugs that I had in my story mode. Another issue I had was pacing of the story mainly at the start of the game. It felt like everything was going a little too fast but luckily it got better at the mid and ending part, however there are still some issues I find with it. Which might turn some people away which is totally fine. Another thing that may be an issue is the genre of music which is very subjective. A lot of people may vibe with it or not vibe with it. I personally love it and I know some people may not vibe with it which is also fine as well. Now onto what makes this game an almost masterpiece in my eyes. The gameplay loop for one is super simple to learn and play. It is like one of those simple to pick but hard to master types of deals. I personally am not the best when it comes to rhythm games but the simple two button gameplay loop is very inviting and makes me want to understand it and become a master at it. It is a rush of dopamine I rarely get in gaming now. Next are the visuals of the game, they're just so gorgeous to look at. I can’t help but want to praise the visual and animation team for making such pretty backgrounds and animation for each main character. The intro cinematic with booked song playing was just beautiful, it almost brought me to tears along with the whole of the final act of the story. Even though the story might not be top tiers as I stated before it was able to pull me in and made me invest into the world and the people that are in it. There is so much stuff you can do in the story mode beside processing the story and that's really cool. I still haven’t been able to count to 100 for the jump rope girl (IYKYK). Now the last thing I want to talk about is the arcade. It is super nice for the dev team to be able to let people who don’t care about the story get all the songs without needing to do the story. Along with the fact of how big of a set list we have and with how addictive the gameplay loop is. It is going to make me sink more hours into the game with all the different achievements and challenges they have to offer. I personally love this game to death and enjoy my time with it. It may not be for everyone or there are some parts that may turn you away from it. However this game shows what a passionate dev team has been cooking up for 8 years and were able to show it to the world. It truly is one of a kind and I can’t wait to make a video talking about this game. If there is nothing you can take away from this review just know that there probably has been some piece of media that may have shifted your perspective or made you feel some type of way. For me this game UNBEATABLE has made me feel and I’m happy I was able to experience it.
