Game of the year for me, without a doubt. Despite being tricky and difficult, the game keeps rewarding you and doesn't make you feel stuck. It is also waaay bigger than I thought. It's a gift that keeps on giving.

Original review: This game is absolutely gorgeous. Everything from the pixel art to the music to the controls is outstanding. Can highly recommend this game.

Update: My initial review was after trying it out for a couple of hours but now that I have spent 18 hours on it I feel like I need to update it. This game is absolutely AMAZING. I have always had a hard time getting in to metroidvania's but in this one I was hooked from the first minutes. The controls, the cute graphics and the super nice pixel art made every moment a bliss.

Not only was this the first metroidvania I ever finished, I went back to 100% it and I even bought Alwa's Awakening afterwards and finished that one too.

This game has opened up a whole new genre of games to me and I will be forever grateful to Elden Pixels for that. I'm currently on the fence whether I should speedrun it, but it's a difficult decision now that I have so many more games I need to play. :)
