I've really been enjoying this game since i picked it up after seeing the breach trailer, and my god its a gorgeous game even on my crappy compy. but i have 2 main complaints.

1. Too many large enemies rely on wide sweeping attacks that come out fast and repeatedly, resulting in boring enemies that do way too much damage. [the riven twins sucked so much jesus christ]

2. The stats. there are stats that increase hp, stamina, focus, and equip load, and stats that increase...*checks notes*...damage. just damage, thats it. I've seen complaints that people put too many points into stamina or equip load and now they do no damage because those points werent put into THE damage stats, but if they DID put them into the damage stats they wouldnt have any stamina to use their weapons, or equip load to have their gear on, or health to survive the heavy hitting enemies, or focus to even USE the runes on their weapon.

so i have some thoughts. first is simple, have more interesting bosses and large enemies. simple, but not easy to implement, im not a game designer. But if 98% of an enemies attacks are 'big wide swing over and over' then its a bad enemy.

second is simple too, but not sure how it could be coded to work. Simply have lesser secondary effects when putting points into the damage stats! enough points into strength means a bit of equip load, but not as much as putting those points into equip load itself. enough points into dex means more stamina, enough points into int means more focus or focus gain, enough into faith means a bit more health. bam, nbow the damage stats arent purely damage, and people wont feel bad about putting points into them and getting nothing more than a bit more damage.


aside from these thoughts? im loving it. the exploration is fun, the verticality is surprising and great, the enemy designs are interesting to look at, and my FAVORITE part is all the shortcuts you unlock! [maybe have the ladders be a bit higher though, its VERY hard to believe these lanky characters cant reach a foot above their head and just grab the ladder]

the game is a lot more like a soulsgame than diablo though, so dont come into it expecting that.

Incredible lore and art, but the constant micromanaging of food, fuel, and constantly draining sanity really holds back an otherwise great game.
