Basically you are living the life of someone with power in the Middle Ages.
You can create the Roman Empire and the Caliphate.
You can create the Holy Roman Empire.
You can be Genghis Khan and reduce Europe to grazing land.
You can create Alexander's Empire.
You can be anyone and do anything.
Frequent updates and DLC to keep the game interested.
Endless playtime and countless different characters.
You will never be able to play the game the same way twice. Unheard of.
Just buy the base game and wait for sales to get the DLC.

The way this game has developed since release is a story to behold.
You can play as any nation starting in the year 1444 and from the there, the world is yours to take. So whatever you want, play the game how you see fit. it's really amazing.
Frequent updates, DLC and an active modding community keeps the game interesting.

After having played the very first total war game I would definately recommend this to every one who likes turn based games. I played this game on easy and it feels like Rome 2 on hard. That is to say that it comes across as very realistic. Do enjoy this series.

You can form Germany starting from the Kingdom of Prussia and Subjugate all of Europe. Need I say more?
