Why the Sonic community holds this game in such high regards is beyond me, it makes 06 look like a masterpiece.

Cons:
-Bland open world with random pointless assets sprinkled around
-Super inventive boss names like 'SHARK' and 'TOWER'
-Sonic's VA needs to go, Roger Craig Smith makes Sonic sound like an old man, it's not just the voice direction either, Roger has never been a good voice in general for Sonic since the start.
-Cyberspace levels are just recycled level designs from previous games with the same 3 or 4 coats of paint added to them instead (Green Hill, City Escape, Sky Sanctuary etc)
-Uninspired open world design has nothing memorable

The only pro's to this game were:
- Soundtrack is great
- The best story in any Sonic game to date
- Character development does wonders for the characters here

Hiring Ian Flynn was a good step here, for once the story wasn't full of quips created by a Marvel movie wannabe, gameplay however Takashi Iizuka absolutely needs to take a back seat or retire, how he's been the series producer for almost 20 years now makes no sense from the track record of poor games he's headed and put out, instead of new ideas he's constantly using member berries and gameplay designs from 'the good ole days', the formula is stale, Sonic Team needs someone new to lead them.

Overall: 4/10
-Lack of new ideas or enemies
-AI secretly used for voice acting?... (see below)
-Difficulty too easy
-Copy and paste music, enemies and bosses from previous Nioh games
-Style switching is fun to experiment with
-Ass performance
-Uninspired map design
-Lazy feel to the game in general

I was so excited for this game, Nioh 2 is one of my favourite games of all time, after completing this however, I'm so disappointed...
Reviews for this game getting 9/10 10/10 must be either paid off or have never played a Nioh game before.
Everything about this game is a complete downgrade of the previous Nioh's.

Story
After the highlight of Nioh 2's story which was an absolutely amazing tale, I expected Nioh 3's story to be just as good or at the same point, I couldn't be more disappointed... I didn't care about any character or what was happening to them, the story initially tries to make it about a jealous brother who didn't get what he wanted and goes on a tantrum, meanwhile you barely even see this brother through the game so the urgency and character development isn't there at all, every NPC feels lifeless due to poor motive and extremely poor voice acting which I will delve more into later, I had no idea what the ♥♥♥♥ I was doing or why I was doing it, why I was going into the past and future, it's just so poorly explained and in all honesty I just couldn't care less what was going on.

Maps
The map designs tend to just be old villages for the most part, no environment gave me the wow factor, and good god that last map just felt like I was staring at purple rocks throughout the entire thing, so dull and boring to look at, it was a real slog to get through.

Enemies/Bosses
None of the new bosses are very memorable, which makes it worse when this game recycles so many boss fights during the entire playthrough, not only that but it also recycles bosses from the old games, I want new content, not something I've already done!
Most enemies are cut and pasted from previous games with virtually no new methods of attack, the new enemies were interesting to fight which is a pro, I liked the new screaming goblin enemy and the weird giant foreskin monster thing, the rest of the new ones aren't very memorable though.

Difficulty
Game is way too easy, previous Nioh's kicked your ass when you first encounter a Yoki, but here? You kill them in a couple hits as if they were made of paper... and that goes the same for bosses too, often killing every boss on my first try (I'm not soulslike pro either) so the fact someone like me didn't break a sweat for most of the bosses isn't good...

Music
A big point I hate about this game is the laziness of the OST, so many songs have just been straight ripped out of previous games and placed in here, like wtf? There should be a whole new OST for a brand new game, why are we using music from previous games, this just screams out laziness.

Voice Acting (English)
Don't play this game in English, the voice acting is by far the worst I've heard in a AAA game in a long time, the subtitles don't match up with words the actors are saying i.e confusing 'haunting grounds' with 'hunting grounds', and my god Thomas Glover's VA absolutely needs firing, his VA was so bad it wasn't even funny, just made me cringe and wonder how on earth it got past QA... and also the delivery of some lines in this game are...odd.... in the sense that the delivery doesn't feel human at times, as if it was AI.... I have no proof that Team Ninja have decided to use AI voices but hearing the delivery of some sentences absolutely raises suspicions s that they're keeping it extremely under wraps with how bad a rap AI is getting at the moment.

Combat
Combat does feel great and fun to play, the style switching on the fly opens up a lot of room for experimentation with combos, I loved seeing what builds I could make to benefit the Samurai and Ninja stances to see how they could synergise together, this was absolutely the best thing about the game.

Performance
This game runs like ass, the amount of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around you have to do to make it stable is an outright piss take, you have to set your refresh rate to 60hz to keep the frametimes stable, the FPS has to stay at 60fps constantly or you will get stuttering, I'm using a 5070ti and had to use dynamic resolution scaling with the minimum set all the way down to 50% just to even make the game playable... god forbid you don't look into this games graphical issues before purchase or you're gunna feel like you're in a matrix movie with all the slow motion ♥♥♥♥ you have to put up with. The most demanding graphics setting has to be set on Ultra (global illumination) otherwise you get this ugly noise on reflective surfaces, but good luck setting that if you have a weaker GPU.

tl;dr
Save yourself some cash and play Nioh 2 instead if you've never played a Nioh game before, this game does nothing to improve upon the latter games and straight up just copy and paste's so much ♥♥♥♥ from previous games.

I gave this game a chance after waiting a whole year for them to fix the abysmal launch, don't bother playing this if you've not tried Worlds or Rise, everything in this game feels as if it's a massive step down from previous games...

-The graphics look terrible even with the high resolution pack
-The performance is still bad to this day, the patch that supposedly makes performance better feels like a lie as it is unplayable at 4K even with a 5000 series with frame gen turned on
-Every monster is made out of paper and dies in 3 minutes
-Monsters continuously run away across the whole map sometimes to make fights feel longer
-The story still sucks ass
-I felt no reason to bother crafting or trying out new weapons since everything dies so fast
-Numerous bugs, the foggy areas kept glitching out for me turning the fog on and off
-The HDR is broken making cutscenes in certain areas so bright you can't see ♥♥♥♥
-So much hand holding, the game practically plays itself with many times where you can literally leave your controller on the floor and not worry about anything
-Too many slow cutscene moments where you can't control your character and are forced to 'be amazed' at the beautiful PS2 era graphics
-Palicos have taken a major back seat in this game, feels like they're barely around

...and the biggest issue of all, MULTIPLAYER

This MH is by far the WORST multiplayer experience I've had in an MH game and probably ANY multiplayer orientated game I've ever played!
First you have to add your friend in the in-game friends list as a 'Hunter Friend', then you join their Hunter friend session, then join their lobby session, then you have to create a link party to be able to even SEE when their quest is available, then if you want to see them in the open world you have to invite them to an environment link, thats 4 things you need to be invited to before you can even have a chance at playing together! What do I mean by 'have a chance' you say?
Even after doing all that ♥♥♥♥ to set the game up for playing with each other, you still can only do the story by yourself until you actually get to a monster fight and THEN you can have people with you, so one of you has to keep dodging the monster until everyone gets into your session which can take up to a minute, then you have to wait for everyone to actually get to the monster together which can take up to another minute, all for the monster to die within 3 minutes.... great, that was totally worth it.
Then after killing the monster and you want to move on to the next story quest you have to repeat all that waiting around, starting at the EXACT same moment ♥♥♥♥ all over again!
Even with the environment link (which is another invite you have to send to allow people to even see you in the open world) if you want to switch to a different world map you have to kick everyone from your current environment link just to go to another world map and then invite the same people again! Absolutely the worst multiplayer I've ever come across...

This game is the most disappointing I've ever played, I loved Worlds and Rise so initially I was excited about this MH, but boy do I absolutely regret buying this POS even at a discounted price from a key website now... I think I'd of had more fun with even Wild Hearts!

tl;dr Stick with Worlds/Rise, this game offers nothing new or interesting and feels like it was made 10 years ago.

Silent Hill has returned to form, everything in this game is exactly what a game like this should be, the music, the depth of the story, the multiple endings, the characters...

The only faults with this game are the combat can feel a little clunky though I sometimes feel this is intentional as previous Silent Hill games make fighting a last resort, you're not a soldier, you're an average girl in a sleepy town.

I also feel towards the end of the game that some more enemy types would of been appreciated.

I'd highly recommend watching Tara A Devlin's video on what happened after the events of Silent Hill f to further flesh out the story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCMcEMIS9cw

If this is the quality that Konami will have with other mainline Silent Hill games then I can't wait for the next entry!

9.5/10!

The story was interesting at first with the whole stealing kids brains thing , after this initial reveal however the story gets a bit too convoluted and confusing for me in typical Kojima style.

The combat is very fun, the parry system and slicing mechanics are addictive to chop enemies up into a million pieces, fighting Gekko's like how Raiden did in MGS4 was so cool, I only realised about halfway through my playthrough that there were actual combos you could do, initially the game tells you to just mix and match buttons to see what happens, I would of appreciated being told there was an actual move list during gameplay.

I really wish this game fleshed out the main villains though because when you first meet any of these guys they have so much about them that you want to know more but are reduced to small boss fights and maybe just one cutscene, very disappointed with the character development here, as for Raiden himself he seems a bit off in this game about halfway through, he isn't the same ninja we see in MGS4, he turns into some cringe edgelord from the 2000's that a 10 year old would probably find cool, it wasn't for me at all and it ruined his character from the previous games.

Spoilers
I also feel as there should of more info and closure as to what happened to the old cast, I understand this is Raiden's game but there's barely even a nugget of info about what happened to Snake, Otacon, Rose or even Jack's kid, with this being the last game in the timeline I was hoping at least for some nice info on the end days of Snake or what Otacon's been up to, how Rose and Jack's kid is but nope, you get Boris, Kevin and some other uninteresting characters to talk through the codec, by far the weakest characters in the game

This game's been made relevant again because of the memes about the senator which is fine, but don't expect this to be anything amazing, it's ok at best and somewhat worth playing as an MGS fan but if you're looking for more lore into that world then this game will disappoint you.
