The Roottrees are Dead is an investigative mystery where you (a hired detective) connect the dots and fill in the Roottree family tree. There are TONS of paths to explore, and I really enjoyed the mechanic and overall concept of this game. The ambient music was the perfect backdrop for research, and the other music within the game was a nice touch. Achievements were both fun and satisfying; there is enough content/story in this game that I was motivated and intrigued my entire play-through.

If you enjoy detective games in general, or having those "Aha!" moments, this is the game for you. Game time and entertainment value certainly make this worth the price, and I can't wait to see Evil Trout's next gem!

TOEM is the perfect blend of puzzle, story, and adventure. It's immersive and the collectibles are fun to pursue. The customization and game progression mesh well, and I feel that TOEM is a satisfying length for gameplay. Nothing felt tedious and everything tied up quite nicely -- I also really enjoyed the added chapter; it shows how dedicated and passionate the devs were with this game and adds an extra bit of fulfillment.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the substance, dimension, and artistic detail within this game surpass many AAA games out there. It's clear that a lot of thought and work went into the development of TOEM, and there isn't a single thing I can complain about.

I am so frustrated with myself for not having played this sooner... I got it years ago and this gem has just been sitting in my library. To anyone who enjoys puzzles, fun characters, exploration, and a truly wholesome experience: this is the game to get! These devs did a phenomenal job with TOEM, and I can't wait to see more from them!
