its good

art is a 10/10, game play is also a 10/10 and the story lands a 12/10
this might be the best cyberpunk game I have played

a youtuber I like did a one off showing the start of this game and I decided to give it a shot myself, the art style looked beautiful and the game play fun. Indeed I spent the early and mid game hooked, unfortunately I found the end game consisted of a handful of brutally unfun boss fights, a bad take on the path of pain and a unsatisfying ending. I had fun but all that soured me on the experience

beyond the dawn can slag off

just finished the new tales of arise dlc, beyond the dawn. I knew it wasn't going to be worth its 29.99 bloody dollar price tag but nothing could have prepared me for just how much of a rip off it is. story starts out promising, which is good because that almost the only new thing this "dlc" adds, everything else is re-used from the main game. Insult to injury the story nosedives about 1/3 of the way in though and never recovers. I still had fun with it, but that mostly because it had been over a year since I played the base game, would be a solid 1/10 if I played it immediately after the main story, as is my experience was a 3/10 at best

my first impression review:
the story continuation is nice but that is pretty much the only new thing this dlc added, almost everything else is just re-used from the base game. absolutely not worth 29.99

combat stayed good throughout but the game outside of combat has some problems, some BIG problem, though they take awhile to build up
not enough to stop me from doing another playthrough, but enough that I'll break my binge and do other stuff for a bit

edit 2: still very good

an excellent metroidvania, but also quite short, it barely took me seven hours to 100% this one

one of my favorite games

broke my mind waited for me to put it back together, then did it again, and again, then one more time for good measure
10/10 would slam into a METAphysical wall again
