I didn't buy this game to start because I knew I would love it.... Then I bought it, well time is flying out the window. On to the game basic gameplay of gathering resources and crafting. You mine by using a pickaxe... or use devices to gather those for you. Using a good size tech tree you can upgrade tech to allow you to built items to help you expand your building operations. Using automation buildings allows you make items and send them down the line. I found the campaign started you off with a bit of too much debt in broken down bases so far. The alot of detail put into making items was alot but not too complicated. I like the aliens don't ruin the fun of building, this was key to starting to like the game. I really do like the aliens as I feel like it gives the game more of a end game type of play to it. Multiplayer was perfect topping to this game, as it allows a good co-op feel for getting a building operation going. I to worried about the game being to much fun.

Graphics are to be expected
Sound is pretty good
Gameplay is borderline perfect

The multi player and servers with custom settings was the future of this first single player game. Playing with friends is the greatest multi player game i've played in a long time. Having to work together not to die is really a chore and brings everyone together. Now on the flip of the coin playing on servers in the public had a issue where people would steal items and burn everything down. I'm not sure but I think they slept better at night knowing they just wrecked a whole server until the admin resets it. That isn't really the games fault since that is a hard problem to solve for. I really like playing the wildreness mode with friends and trying to find each other and not die since when you do you randomly spawn which is really funny in the winter since you don't have anything but the clothes on your back. Adding missions or dungens (caves) to this would make something to do besides not starving alot more fun. They might still be working on that so keep your eyes open for that.

What a good survial game. With that I will start off with this game has alot of replay value and so much to craft and explore. The part where I went wrong was playing around with the custom world and seeming to spoil the gameplay. Before that point I loved seeing how many days I could go. Once I made it to winter season I spent alot of time trying to get through that. With the gaints DLC they added caves and awesome monsters to fight or run from. Earning new characters was a really good way of keeping me interesting in trying again since I knew it was just a matter of time before I died again. For the money it was worth it but I wish I had 30+ game thing that would keep the replay fun there. There is don't starve together but thats another review... :-)

I will say the game started off great with the excitement of the adventuring and research. The game lost its touch when you get bored with the AI requests all the time. The aliens just keep pouring out and just get in the way. The research seems to take forever. Also the healthly attribute seems like other civ games where its really hard to get positive. I was able to find a way using biowells but I ended paying out the shorts to keep those going. I did like the touch where you could find artifacts on the map and research it. The reskinned civ game issue people bring up isn't a good enough reason for me not to the dislike the game. I had to goto dislike on this game after getting bored didn't feel like any reason to provoke the AI and I was too much work to get victory. After about turn 250 I didn't care if I lost or won. I will say that by that time I prod should have won the game. I'm close to being on the fence with this game but just seems to missing too many things to keep the game tempo but that might just be me.

Just a quick review after playing this twice. I'll start with its not worth 15 dollars. Its worth more like 10 dollars, as it does feel like a app based game which it is. For a App based game it has alot to it though. Some part of the game were created little overly simple but the game play had a good flow. The parts that make the game are the easy of use for the fleets but pretty cool ship upgrade system. The ally part doesn't make a whole lot of sense in this game as pretty much everyone is the enemy it appears but I may just provoke them. The game ended surprising early for a small game which was nice for those without alot of time. I waited a week or two before getting the game but it appears to not be really buggy. I do have to give this game credit for being simple and playable short or long.

This game caught my eye with the fact it might play like masters of orion. This star based conquest game has alot of details to manage which after a few hours appears be a good of options. The interface is a little hard to get used to just alot of symbols and small buttons. The reseach system is pretty normal being a tree based items. The Ship editor is litte over simple but still useful. The AI is to be expected with turning their backs on you randomly. Interesting enough tho there is a system that determines their status with you based on actions and score. The multi player is a little slow but is nice in the fact every one takes turns at the same time. There is a player icon for all players that aren't done yet. The planet upgrades can get pretty interesting and change the game quite a bit. The heroes can get pretty powerful even staying on a system getting XP. I do feel the game can get a sluggish while trying to get better upgrades to defeat enemy fleets. Which can get annoying since they use a tactic where you can only attack once but if they split their ships up into a ton of mini ones so your planet is always under siege. All in all this game is really well built and has good game play.

What a great idea for a game! The end result is pretty good for a style of game never really seen before. I have to point out I love pinball and RPGs before reading any further. The story mode is pretty good going to different rooms or mini puzzle levels. Some of those levels have interesting objectives that can be a little tough. The items and characters you can collect is pretty fun. The game feels smooth and has good control. Its a little weird being able to have the power to move your ball left or right while its moving. You can switch which character in mid game to better get to your objective. The items aren't too powerful give you something to strive for making it a little easier. I love the fact your flippers take damage and can break giving just a little more edge. The multi tier levels are a nice change of pace. Overall I think this game was a good idea and designed pretty good.

I have to say this game is amazing. It could sorta remind you of a minecraft style play with crafting and adventuring. The support for VR is just perfect for a game like this. At this time with base building is really where the game takes off. Building a base is a good pit stop to get deeper. Don't forget the subs are really cool which get you deeper too. I don't feel like its too hard to live in this game and the fact when you die, you just lose some of the items which is a perfect style for this game. They have two other modes one being hardcore, if that if you die well your dead. The freedom mode allows you to ignore food and H20. This game doesn't feel like its really indie in a good way. The game isn't complete but feels like it has alot of polish. I rarely find early access games that I feel like are a good value or that would be finished. Which makes this game a good one for early access since as they add content you don't feel like it takes away from the game ( IE a story being changed ETC). When you first start playing this game you will find it can be a little scary which is a fun stage of the game. Once you start getting more used to the game you will get into to a crafting mode where you try and make everything. Third stage in the game is to adventure I feel like which is doing caves or deeper waters. The four stage is just go ahead and stop giving a crap and go as deep or far out as you can. Most likely you will die but thats point where it was a good run. Currently at the part of getting faster and better at crafting items and subs with a better base setup. For the money they are asking I would ask I plan on getting my money worth and excited to see what they add to this game. Not to mention content seems to be coming to this game which is a good surprise.

I like the idea of the game but even with my low amount of time playing this game I feel its not going to change the more I play it. First problem is if people don't hit I'm ready button you go back into the queue. That problem alone was enough to have me stop playing since i was in queue more then the game but that was soon to change. So I was wrong I was in game more then queue which leads me to the second problem balancing issues. The balancing issues are so bad I had a game that barely ended since you can build such good defences while the guns and abilities are only so fast at destroying them. Don't get me wrong trying to keep the spawner to reduce wasted time walking the whole way back. I'm not saying its really a bad game just not one that I felt was rewarding enough to play more. The block based building bases was quite good for the tactics for defence. The game hasn't been released but I would pass at the current time I will update once the game is released.
