TLDR: Great idea, but wait until they fix it. If they never do, don't buy it.

Awesome idea.
The game definitely has bugs like freezing, but what is worse is how poorly things are described.
You will get consistent "poor evaluation" markers and the game never tells you why, even in campaign mode. EVERYONE has the same easily fixable issues.

- The stethoscope portion of game is so obtuse as to what you are looking for it's unplayable.
- What counts as contraband exactly? You won't ever know.
- Feel like you made a mistake? Too late they are in with gen pop and you can't bring them back for whatever reason.

Maybe a dev language barrier?

Also why do I need to open a whole other screen to check symptoms? Put the tools tips on the screen and don't make me go back and forth.

I beat this game... I think?

This a cute little game to play on your Steam Deck or your grandparents computer. It's fun, fast and not crazy resource heavy. The story is meh. The ending(?) is meh. The game play is fun.

The game is a perfect mix of cyberpunk and Xcom. Definitely well on the way to being a great game on 1.0. Hacking is takes time to understand, but it's the best video game version I've seen.

DEVS please allow for pausing during enemy turns. Seriously annoying and such an easy fix.

TLDR: Tons of economy including a spice stock market for the hodl bois. Super hollow fighting.

There is almost too many mechanics to manage, but I like a lot to think about in my 4x games. Some of that is fun, like figuring out which building is DRINKING ALL OF MY DAMN WATER, but some of it is annoying like SERIOUSLY WHY DO I NOT HAVE AN ****ING WATER?!

What killed the game for me was the fighting. I took an enemy town and wanted my dudes to stay put so I clicked "hold ground" or whatever the equivalent is. They are positioned at the top of a ramp surrounded by cliffs. If the enemy wants this town back they are going to have to kill my melee and get to my ranged dudes. AINT GONNA HAPP.... They just walk through them and kill my ranged guys. I SCUM LOAD. WTF was that? I make sure to unclick "hold ground" to see if that mechanic is just dog water. NOPE. There is no unit blocking. Why have front line units if there is no front line?

FEAR ISNT THE ONLY MINDKILLER TODAY BOYS.

Currently the pacing of this game is not very fun. It is an unabashed rip off of Tarkov, so if you like that game so much you want a keychain version of it, play this thing.

I got max level everything way before the missions required it because the kill missions make you go back to a place literally dozens of times to find the mobs you need to kill. Personally, Ive gone to the second zone 27 times to kill 6 hunters and I am at 4 so I am done with the game. Looting isnt fun if you have no need for money.

It's fun. It's cute. It's terrible when viewed as a whole game. Maybe wait a year,

Soo I know this is a cult classic. I know people wanted this for a really long time. I just can't stop feeling like it is a broken piece of crap.

The Good stuff - We all know or have heard about.
The sim, the lore generation and the Dwarfie dwarves being dwarves. I love all that. I was excited about it.

The Bad Stuff
The tedium of trying to figure out how to do anything.
The tedium of trying to manage your stockpiles, squads, squad armor, civilian clothing or basically anything in your civ when it comes down to minutia, but minutia is what these games are about.
The menus don't make sense. Trying to find a specific dwarf takes 5x longer than it should because there is no filter system.

Even after watching tutorials, anything you can't figure out leads you to forums which answers usually "Could be a bug".

Most of the quality of life issues have been known by the Devs and the community for so long that DFhack is a required download. The game would be challenging enough without bugs and terrible "features" that have existed for 20 years.

I love the game for what it is and I will probably keep torturing myself with it, but I would never tell anyone it is good.

Wasteland 3 is what I wanted from Wasteland 2, but without all the bugs and broken quests - A gritty, post-apocalyptic RPG that doesn't take itself seriously (unless you count the voice actors when the die in audio logs. Seriously gross. Stop coughing blood into my ears please).

The world map is much easier to get around!
The combat is still dope!
The God President Reagan is now in my top 5 favorite video game fights. (not because of mechanics)

The game is balanced and super fun. Get it now. Stay in your room for a week.

The game is great, the music is epic, the building mechanics are plodding but effective. All in all its an amazing game. BUT

TLDR: If you want a star wars flight simulator get it. If you want TIE FIGHTER 2 this ain't it.

I played Tie Fighter when I was a wee tot. That game was amazing. Ship customization, varied mission types and a story that drove me to kill rebel scum. Squadrons is a shadow of that.

FLIGHT: 4/5 I use VR and a hotus(Flight stick and throttle). I love it, but the game is a bit one dimensional. The flying is amazing and you can getting really good at it. There is really no tricky flying the can help against capital ship lasers which makes me grumpy AF.

STORY 3/5 The story of is really un engaging though. They added characters in your squadron in single player that you are apparently supposed to develop a relationship with, but it fails entirely. I just skip through the briefings because all the missions are kinda the same.

GUNSOULS IS GREAT.

GAMEPLAY is fun. Formulaic, but difficult. Learning enemy patterns is required to progress. The boss fights are hard, but with proper gear adjustment they are manageable and fun. After beating a boss I feel like I have acquired new skills without ever touching my talent points.

PROGRESSION is directly tied to how much time you put in. I haven't found any shortcuts or broken mechanics in my play through.

GEAR changes your play style so much that it feels like class building, but unlike classic classes you can change "classes" if the fight calls for it. Can't get close to the boss? There is a build for that. Have to evade all day? There is a build for that.

It's really hard on hard. Just like it is supposed to be.
