Ashes of creation REVIEW FROM AN OLD MMORPG player

From Ashes of Creation to Ashes of Frustration

I am a gamer.
I have been playing games since the start of the industry of gaming back when Atari was the first console.
I have played games in C64 ,AMIGA 500,PSX,ps2,ps3,and PC since 8088 processor
But my favorite genre of all is mostly MMORPGS
I have been searching for a good MMO the last years of the F2p-mobile-p2w ERA of disaster.
Finding a good game of this genre has become a true pain and the disappointment the last years is massive
My last chance and also for my friends were this game. Ashes of Creation.
Which looked like a classic old school game of the genre.
And of course when most of my friends said we have to try it now even in ALPHA stage i rushed to join
So i bought the game and went in. The first feel of the game and also the in general feel is old vibes coming from many aspects of it.
But many specific parts of the game looks outdated, shallow and mediocre the least if not bad.
The leveling is slow the all feeling is so slow maybe that's why the mount is acquired so early in the game.
The problems as you try to enjoy it hits hard as you level up and proceed further.
The questing is basic and scarce. The mobs are so few and in very specific areas leaving a vast amount of areas empty and deserted leaving the world empty
The mobs even in the areas are few in numbers making the quest mobs hard to find and people are waiting for them in groups for ages....
Then if the mob has a quest drop it is rolled from all as it drops only 1 item making it even harder for everyone to take that item
To get the kill of a mob is to do more damage to it making higher lvls and groups easier to do so but the mechanic for solo players and lower lvls is impossible to do it..
At some parts where you get an invite the loot is snatched by the melee chars at ablink....
There is no fast travel.....
If you die sometimes you are spawn so far away that it take ages to go back.
Also for some reason the unstuck method kills you and you loose exp and loot btw when you die.
The frustration in many parts is there and cant let you enjoy the game which is unpolished and mediocre the least in so many parts of it.
The crafting which looks complicated for no reason. It is a simpler version of Archeage craft but 3 times simpler.
It has a ton of items to craft but the items to be bought in some craft areas are so far it takes so much time to go back and forth making also again.... frustrating
I am struggling to enjoy it and there are a lot of times where i just alt+f4 like the time i was trying to get to a mountain to make a quest ended up in an endless see ,nowhere to go
used unstuck ,lost exp ,lost loot and ended up at the beginning where you start at level 1!!
Also the menus the crafting the icons of the armor and the whole feeling looks so outdated and with no detail in most of it parts
that makes it a bad and slow frustrating experience with a disappointment slowly building making you unable to enjoy it.
You end up wandering what people see in it and to question the motivation and why people that have tried it say only good things and nothing bad about it....
I have been questioning my self if it is me and i went back to retry good and solid old games of the genre like RIFT,SWTOR,Lotro just to see the difference
Yes i enjoyed them more and the disappointment was even bigger.

This game is far from finished

This game needs so much improvement that i don't think it will ever be a hit or a very good game.
Maybe after 3-4 years and with major changes it might.(Fingers crossed)

Until then this is a no no and a mediocre the least of the lost (as it seams) genre of old school MMORPGS

This is not for all players of MMORPGS
It is a game that YOU MUST SEARCH EVERYTHING AND THINK EVERY ASPECT IN THE GAME
CAUSE IT DOESNT FORGIVE THEM
Choose carefully class weapons and skills then armor.
It DEMANDS A LOT OF FARMING or a lot of money to save time.
IF YOU CAN MASTER THE AUCTION HALL YOU DONT NEED MONEY
RECCOMENDED FOR HARDCORE GAMERS Mostly but casuals can also play but they will never be on top of rankings

By far the best app for personalizing your pc Best buy i have made and highly recommended.You can also use it on your cellphone and use a video as a wallpaper !!!!

Great fps turned into MMo with very good graphics The missions that you can play with others are not so good and gaming with others is unispired and dull.
