John Carpenter's Toxic Commando is a straight forward, no fuss, fun co-op title. No complicated mechanics, no fomo battlepass style system. Just launch the game, play with friends (or randoms) and watch the meaty guts fly. Simple loop with some solid gunplay. At that price point, this CAN hit. Grab a friend. blow zombies up, and have fun!

I'll keep it simple. Great story. Likable characters. Fun, turn based combat. Music is incredible. Design is beautiful. Overall, an amazing turned based RPG.

The game is just straight up fun. No need to be hyper competitive, no need to have a meta loadout. Get some friends, and have fun. You know, like video games are meant to be. The gameplay loop is fairly simple, with the gunplay being easy to pick up and handle. The planets and enemy variety are great. Had it's issues at launch, sure, but what do you want from a smaller dev who didn't expect this many players, this quick, running on an engine that stop receiving support in 2018? The team has been very honest and open in communicating on their Discord and socials. We love to see that. If you're looking for a good laugh and some fun times spent with your friends, this is it.

I bought in during the early access beta after they were gearing up for a new launch since the original launch failed. Hoping they learned from their mistakes, and wanting an alternative to the massively disappointing BF2042, this really wasn't it. I downloaded it again seeing if any updates had made it any better. It has not. The gunplay is weird and inconsistent. The audio is terrible (I get it, it's a smaller studio, but come on). Visually it's not bad, but animations are laughable. And the servers lol. I had heard that they're middle eastern servers, which makes the experience (at least for me in the eastern US) horrible and mostly, literally, unplayable. They have a lot of work to do. Meantime, guess I'll just continue to play BF4.

Let's start off by saying, no, this is not Left 4 Dead 3. The devs said shortly after the announcement, that this is not L4D3. Most people that were disappointed were the ones who wanted it to be L4D3 so bad, that they held it to that standard and let themselves down when they found out it wasn't. The story itself is kinda cool. Cheesy. And I personally like that. It's a fun, level based horde shooter with objectives. The AI Director isn't as strong as it was in L4D, so don't expect that much variety in gameplay. The deck building has been simplified, so no need to cry about that anymore either. The amount of cosmetics is pretty good too. Not a lot, but it works. It's a simple, fun loop.

It's simple, shoot things fun. Can get challenging, but it's still fun.
