I only got in once, but it was worth it.

I'm a huge fan of Factorio, Satisfactory, Voxel Tycoon and similar games. I had seen an announcement of this game, and was cautiously excited. The transformation to 3D can be tricky, so I was waiting for some early reviews before I gave it a try. Oh my! This is a very polished EA game, way more fleshed out than I was expecting. Granted, I've only spent a little bit of time with it so far, but the 'feel' of the game is right where it should be. The technology tree is very expansive, the upgrades to your character are elaborate, and the UI works well. I already had flashes of how I would organize buildings and belts when the tools became available.

If you're a fan of these types of games, I can already highly recommend it. This appears to be a game that is pretty far in development, was written well (performance / visuals) and I'm crossing my fingers this game will go far. The best way I can give a compliment to this game is that I skipped all of the tutorials and was able to figure it out very quickly on my own.

I rarely write reviews, but this game is absolutely brilliant and very much worth it. I'm a software-architect and this tickles all the right parts of my brain. I generally play without enemies, as I just enjoy building and optimizing factories. It's really hard to stop playing as you always have something to optimize or extend. Even though it's early access, builds are rarely with major bugs and new versions generally contain more / better features. I've been playing hundreds of hours of this game and never ran into a major bug. 10/10.

Don't worry about all the negative reviews. It almost scared me away from buying it, but oh my! Once you're a few hours in the game really shines. Most of the negative reviews are from people that have not played the game long enough to really get into the meat of the game it seems. Don't be fooled by my gametime, I played it elsewhere and instantly bought it afterwards for myself.

There is also an iOS / Android game (match-3 type game) that allows you to transfer extra resources to your game. I'm not a candy-crush fan, but I really enjoy the idea and it allows me to make some progress on the way home from work.

All in all, I'm thoroughly enjoying the game. It's decidedly different from the Anno games before it, but I do enjoy the improvements. If I want to experience the previous gameplay I just fire up 2070 or 1404! So it's a worthy addition to hte series. Don't fear change.

I'm unable to review the game since I'm stuck on a loading screen after the prologue. After walking through a door (20 seconds into the game) the screen goes black and nothing happens. Very disappointed with this release.
