Solid game for the price it asks for, though proper strategy seems only needed during a few challenges and prestige-mode is easier than the maingame, still very much worth your time :)

This game released to be bought for 10 bucks, but even the base price of 15 is well worth your dime and time, i have been playing it daily at this point trying to figure out new strategies to push my kingdom to last longer and although the game isn't out in it's entirety, it does not feel like an unfinished product either and that's highly respectable.

If there is anything that bugs me a bit about the game, it would be how difficult it can become to keep track of your map, there is a lot going on it especially as you get more score and unlock more units, shops and other special things, i find it too easy to forget what was what and believe there should be icons that show up when you zoom far out of the map, with those icons depicting the type of building you are looking at, if it's a unit to buy, or a shop, or a dungeon, etc.

Still, i can't wait to see what more gets added and i strongly encourage giving this game a shot :)

Saw the reviews at first, actually listened to them and cancelled my installation right then and there, thought that i really wasn't feeling for an MMORPG that may just be yet another p2w slop with nothing fun about it until you spend money on gacha or whatever.

Then i felt a bit meh about a conclusion like that, should at least give the game a fair shot myself, it's free, an hour cannot hurt.

So, i didnt really stop at an hour, no the game isn't an amazing masterpiece of a game, the story being the first thing you get engaged in is quite fast and jumpy which can certainly put people off, though i didn't find it annoying like Tower of Fantasy, the characters for one were actually quite nice and not too annoying, they are quite well put together and speaking of characters, the creator is actually really nice too, there are some restrictions like skin color and body types not being as flexible as other games have it, but i managed to put together a cute character quite fast, i do like being able to make my own hairstyle and eyecolors.

Combat wise, i do think it's a bit early to talk in detail but, it's not a bad system from what i been able to get out of it, not too difficult to get into but likely got enough detail going on for optimized strategies to flourish, i am unsure myself on how far i will get into it.

There are jobs and they are closely tied to a player economy from what i understood, i haven't engaged with it at all at this point but it looks like you could earn the most by focusing on one aspect, and it might be intended as you got stamina to worry about while pursuing your crafts.

Something i actually like about the player economy though is that it even seems to include the paid premium currency, which suggests to me that even monetary paywalls can be overcome by playing and engaging with the game, trading yourself up if you know how to, i might never engage with this but it's nice that it is there.

There are a lot of small things that are nice and honestly have been making me enjoy the game more than i thought i would, but i think this review conveys my thoughts well enough already, i haven't gotten to a point yet where i can't enjoy the game at all without paying, which is all a free to play game should be in my opinion.. so.. yeah, i do recommend it but it's fine if this isn't your type of game.

Having sunken a *lot* of hours into this, i will say that this charming idle-game is definitely up on my favourites, no matter if you are a super dedicated gamer or just a casual like me, there is always something to do and more to achieve, hitting big numbers after some grind be feeling great, when certain mechanics finally start clicking in your mind and you start to actually do some nasty strats for big time gains feels great and the quirky artstyle is oddly charming.
Players tend to be pretty chill too, haven't really encountered many that are an issue (and most kinda just do their own thing anyway)

Probably one of the more engaging idle-games i have encountered!

"What the ♥♥♥♥ do you mean you missed a 95% percent chance and caused half your team to get wiped for it?!"
Yeah that's XCOM buddy, the sequel only adding onto it. TL;DR if the inevitable ramblings aren't for you

I played both with and without DLC and it's great either way, the focus in my opinion is the tale of the individual soldiers and squads you will have in your playthroughs, hand-crafted through the creation screen or gained randomly, the gameplay itself is great, commanding a squad against a force quite a bit greater than yourself.
One of the few games where the best experience is within the highest difficulty with ironman enabled, though not any less worth your time if that's not your cup of tea.

However if you are a challenge junkie, you may find the beginning of your campaign to really be the most interesting, succeed and thrive and you will unlock upgrades, perks and items that make missions nearly trivial at times where even the best alien units are but a half a turn away from guaranteed demise, though this comes from someone that definitely hasn't played on the highest difficulty yet.

Then there is this neat thing about mod support, adding quite a bit to the game and allowing replayability to grow infinite as is standard with these kinda games, worry not however as the game remains enjoyable without in my opinion.
Personal recommendation on that is going for Long War 2, it greatly lengthens your average campaign and i found myself struggling equally so even at the veteran (normal) difficulty, i won't shy to admit i had to savescum so much and STILL lost the campaign because i just couldn't muster the wits and/or power to stop them aliens from becoming god incarnate
There are smaller mods, like allowing you to choose classes of your soldiers, including different, tougher variants of units or making them playable, truly turning XCOM 2 into some sort of sandbox if you prefer to craft your own experience with the game as the foundation.

While not really the focus of the game, i thought the story and characters are pretty well made too, adding flair and if you are willing to allow it, making the game be quite immersive as i found myself several times glued to my chair and praying so some higher power to make my soldiers win this unloving situation.
You FEEL the situation you are in, that you are here to save planet earth from the aliens that plagued it for several years, having turned your home into a DNA-Farm basically.

Overall the game really is just fun.. and also unapologetically ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when you have your soldier miss, get hit, panic and kill half your squad, allowing the aliens to wipe out the rest with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ease and putting a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wrench into your campaign because now you gotta find replacement fast because they just upgraded their units.. ♥♥♥♥ that sectoid, to hell it belongs.

TL;DR a great game that is not shy of emotionally torturing you, great replayability through mods but not needing them to be a fun experience, might stale towards the end though for some

Wonderful little demo of a game that i will certainly look out for when it releases :)
It is really what it advertises itself as, Forager, Satisfactory and Minecraft though i think Forager shines through the strongest of the three, and given the story that had unfolded over the dev team at Forager.. it is very welcome to see a new game that hopefully does things a little better.
Personally i hope this game manages the fine path of keeping simple with complex possibilities and maintains the already relaxing atmosphere you get while just running about, clicking and getting stuff.
Best of luck on release!

In light of recent discoveries, i can no longer recommend this game, please note this has nothing to do with the game itself (the game is actually really good) however it simply has to do with the allegation that a decent amount of the developer team were made of child labour ranging from 11 to 16 according to my source (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItHZySmmM7I this video or if you prefer to google "Why Starbound lost" on youtube)

This is completely unhinged if true and so the points brought forward suggest these allegations to be more likely true than not, if you intend to play this game, i recommend borrowing from a friend or otherwise legitimate means of acquiring without paying for it, i will not judge you if you still purchase of course but please keep in mind of who you support.

There are several games that can provide you with tons of playtime, one of them being it's very competitor Terraria but there are many lesser known titles that i am sure can give your time some value in return

Edit: Old review below, for new review scroll further down.

A really fun game for it's early state. Me and my friend kept telling eachother on how this feels so much like Terraria while at the same time feels not like it. Really fun mechanics that let you do your own Magic instead of finding a book or staff that does it for you. Taking control of an Enemy to be able to Explore the world in a slightly different way (with the choice currently except for one) and having Bosses that (to us) arent really that difficult but still fun to fight.
Please do not forget about this game dear developers and use the potential it has!

[NEW REVIEW]

So i occasionally play this game, see how it's doing and if it lives up to it's potential.. it.. is complicated.. or rather complicated but with a simple sentence to describe it.

It's starting to become dangerously close to what is titled: the Feature Creep.

Originally this was exactly what i praised it for, it clearly took Terraria(mayhabs Starbound too) as the main inspiration and took it's own spin on it and as it felt like a beta back then, it definitely was lots of fun!
But i am worried that it might no longer know where to go next, personally it has started to become too much, or rather, i would like to see already existing assets and mechanics refined more.

It appears that as updates roll out the old content is.. forgotten or not forgotten but it feels like the direction is uncertain in a bad way.

With it's current age, i honestly want to see a prettier world, right now it feels extremely washed out and grainy, some textures dont mesh with the sprites, some animations feel clunky while others smooth, some systems are struggling to compete with the others or feel very out of place.. with little flavour.

What i am saying is.. this game has potential STILL, but it doesn't seem to know how to realize it. Right now we just get new features upon features, which would be amazing if the foundation that it is piled onto felt equally polished.
Personally the game is in a stage where it needs to be getting reworked assets, one cohesive style and make already existing systems more fleshed out and worthwhile in their own right! .

Please, devs. I urge you to listen to the game and what it needs!

This kind of co-op is just perfect!
I dont care about these Bugs/Glitches this game has
the gameplay itself is Fun! and no Bug/Glitch interferred with that.
Get a Friend and give this a chance! its worth it!

Would like more of this kind~
