I have MAJOR Issues with this. Not only have they advertised this game as a "New Game" (which is isn't), You would assume they would have changed some things. I have had a look at the steam store and noticed that Bendy and the Dark Survival has been taken off the store and replaced with this game,. WHICH IS THE SAME GAME. It might have a few visual updates and some AI rework, but if you have played Dark Survival, it won't be as fun. I am so glad I got this for free, but here I was thinking it was a new Bendy game when it is just a relaunch.

For new buyers, this game is a lot of fun. Has some good elements of scare without being too overwhelming and punishments for dying can be painful. Great little top down, find items, escape before dying game. Would i pay the $30AUD price tag for it, HELL NO, but if it goes on sale (50% or more) it is a great deal

I will say, not a very polished game. Visuals are amazing, but tends to run slow in areas. Gameplay is very straight forward with a little bit of a challenge, but nothing too hard. I think I have died to myself more than enemies, only due to controls being a bit weird. Souls-Like game for sure, but one of the easier ones to come out. Story is hit and miss, without paying close attention to cutscenes, dialogue and scrolls scattered around the game, you can get lost very easily.

For the cheap price, if you like Souls-Like games, it is something I would recommend. Just have a controller ready, as I played with keyboard and mouse for half of it, not the most fun thing to do.

PlateUp! meets Party Animals. Great game with friends, a lot of chaos and very silly. I am hoping the devs bring more to the game, as it would be awesome to have community levels be made and played. Making the game have infinite levels of different difficulties.

Great competitive and Casual game to play with friends or even solo. Love the abilities for each Marvel hero and the fact they are still updating to further improve the game. My main issue is the "Shader Compiling" every time you launch the game. Maybe make a setting in the launcher that lets you recompile the shaders if there are any performance or visual issue, that way people dont have to wait 10 to 15 minutes just to get to the main screen. Otherwise great game that is bound to kill Blizzard

Simple but creative way to do an old style Age of Empires type of game. Almost feels like you are controlling toys on a play mat which is cute. Only issue I have run into is when the minimap is closed down the game does tend to freeze, making you have to close the game. Otherwise it is very fun, and I kinda cant wait to see if the developer makes an online version of this with bigger maps

I am giving this an honest review, as I know it is still a relatively new game and done by a small team (1 person maybe?).

Pros:
SCARES: The game actually tends to have a lot of good scares, whether they are jumpscares or just feeling a bit uneasy entering rooms or going around corners.
STORY: The story does kinda just jump straight into it, with no explanation, but as it is about nightmares, there really doesn't need to be much. However, while reading notes and listening to conversations you do get a backstory of what is happening.
PRICE: The game is actually priced quite good considering how long the game is (approx. 2-3hrs first time playing). I do recommend when it is on sale, as it is right now, but for $2.5AUD its still not bad.

Cons:
SETTINGS. The BLOODY settings are very minimal, 4 buttons to change the settings. Doing so changes resolution and quality at the same time, which is quite a bummer since Ultra for me runs at 20fps and the motion blur makes me feel very sick. I have had to play the game in Medium settings and deal with the resolution issue, but would be nice to have multiple options.
DOESN'T SAVE GAME PROGRESS BETWEEN CHAPTERS. Please add this, as most people may not be able to play the whole game in one sitting and would like to continue from where they left off (only found out when i left the game from the start of Chapter 2) and currently the game feels like you are playing a long game demo.

I do hope that the developer continues to work on fixing these things but as I mentioned in the beginning, small team and their first game, they haven't done a bad job.

EDIT:
Developer has added a new chapter, which is an introduction to the game and how you were locked in the nightmare realm. Again still no saves between chapters or even a chapter select system once reached the start of the chapter. But I am happy that the Dev hasn't forgotten the game, as the performance is now so much better and the game size isnt taking nearly 5GB for a 3 to 4 hrs game

Love the game, definitely needs more work but for a 1 man game, plays well and online works great. Questing is the only downfall as it is easy to get lost or forget where/what you were doing. Maybe a logbook which keeps track of quests or interactions with npcs would be good

Got this game free a long time ago (probs around 2018), thought I would finally give it a go. Small bugs like gnomes getting stuck or in a loop unless grabbed. Story was awesome, and the DLC (which I brought on sale) while not being really long, gave more insight on the main game and made it more messed up. Awesome game, and now i cannot wait to play the 2nd one

Early Access Review
Great to play with friends, kinda wish you could have more than 4 people in a lobby, but that can be a future thing. As it is now, great game with minor bugs like camera not working even when turned on, glitching through walls and closed doors. This is coming from non-VR side, which may be the cause of why most of these bugs are happening. Great Job devs, try and make this game beautiful and worthwhile

Edit: With the new achievement and levelling update, this game has started to become something worthwhile, now with or without friends. Having a Solo challenge called Apocalypse also brings new and exciting games. Hopefully more updates come out soon which will include more maps as these current ones are starting to get a bit repetitive
