TLDR: Recommend, great game but not FP1. Game is a resource and city/city state management game instead of more of a survival game (Still is in some ways). Think FP1 but on a much larger scale where the end of the game in FP1 is just a regular thing now.

I played the first one quite a bit, and pretty much got winning down to a T. This game is much more a politics simulator and hub management than the previous style of city building. With that being said, I find this game significantly harder. There are tons of long term cascading affects that will happen by ignoring a small thing like goods. Now you have less money, now people are arguing, now there are protests and you have less workers to meet the tasks at hand and it may become a death spiral if you aren't careful. Needless to say I love it but it is a quite bit different from the first game so keep that in mind. I believe it is so much different there should be a demo if I am being honest.

*SMALL SPOILERS BELOW*

With all that being said, I took the "American route" if you will. I went religious route for the city and just as in real life the religious people are easily manipulated as long as you let them do their prayers publically and do small things for them you can lie say you support them and pass laws completely opposed to their views and they won't be mad at all and they will continue supporting you as a goddess on the Earth. I love how realistic this. Great job devs! The radical non scientific faction in the game are also the complete opposite and will get mad about every little thing you do that they don't like and will actively try to protest against you. You can make everyone happy but it is VERY hard and requires really good resource management.

Amazing coop game, babies are currently complaining about balance changes who clearly don't care about how the game was intended to be by the devs. It's not a power fantasy, each Helldiver is a worthless body to be thrown to the wolves by the rich and officers on the ship who never actually see combat and you never even see who is truly sending you to die as a reflection on the real world military industrial complex. Please just allow the devs to make the game they intended.

Oops haha. I just played for 10 hours straight, didn't take my meds, didn't work out, didn't eat breakfast, lunch, nor did I prepare dinner. Still gonna write my review though.

Did you like Hades 1 but really wanted an option to play a goddess whether you're a woman (me) or you just like pretty women (also me)?? This is exactly what you wanted.

Yeah, pretty amazing game overall. I haven't beat the game yet but got close (I think).

~~Spoilers below and some thoughts/suggestions on the gameplay for the devs~~

First boss has a certain attack that isn't hard to dodge that turns you into a sheep and doesn't really do anything if it does hit you except slow down the fight to a halt. Perhaps something should be changed here to either really hinder you or it is just less annoying in general (Boss might change later to be harder like the bosses in Hades 1, not that far yet). Some of the keepsakes in this game seem just not good at all compared to the previous game at least for the average player such as Hermes'. His keepsake in H1 was PREMIUM, hard to use to it's full power for average players but very strong for seasoned players. I feel the same is true for the current H2 keepsake but as it has limited time it's really only good to use for speed runners perhaps since each run on average can be 30-45+ minutes. I LOVE the open world esc areas near the end but having to search for the tree before then finding the items is a pain/bore. Perhaps in future there could be an update to notify you where the tree is so you don't spend resources unlocking it just to run around aimlessly trying to find it (Honestly I could be 100% wrong and missing something here). Charon seems to carry significantly less snacks than the first game just due to more item variety, could be wrong but I have been extremely low health going into a Charon safe room and he had no healing item and it felt horrible knowing I was about to flop a solid run (Skill issue). I know this may be way down the line and I haven't completed the game yet but it would be dope to have an aspect of Zagreus spear in the game where you could have 1 play style from the old game and it's a call back to our time playing him.

Bugs: In the Cerberus boss fight (Thank you, this fight is amazing) when I call down the meteor strike I cannot see where it will land (May be all targeting Moon abilities not sure), sometimes when using moon axes spin to win move (hold X on controller) it doesn't show the ring and no animation either (Hard to replicate, only happened to me twice). Will update further if I find anything. Update: Eris' adament rail mortar rounds hit box is not correct (sometimes), was way outside of shown hitbox just to get one shot near end of boss fight. Loving the bosses.

It's the best character creator I've ever used. Created a perfect, uncanny version of my wife and I and will be playing through the game with them. Super excited!

If you are a little person or want to play a gnome, goblin, dwarf like the last game unless they update it that is impossible. 160 cm is the lowest height and that doesn't even cover all average women's heights. While my wife and I are taller than that, my sister is 150 cm and will not be able to show that in game. Unsure why they removed smaller heights but still. Great work!

It okay. Over rated as heck.

As a combat vet I loved playing this game when I did before and definitely recommend for anyone who is also a combat vet. Most people you play with will be kids who play like cod die instantly/shoot you in the back while you breach.

Things may have changed but the devs previously said they would never add a female operator, as a female operator IRL this did make me stop playing the game even though I really like it as I would never be able to be properly represented.

@The Devs: I will voice a female operator for free, just so I can come back and play again happily.

*Edit* It seems I am a jester as I cannot find anything saying they will not be adding female operators but that they have no idea as to when they can, this makes sense as they are a small team.

The absolute madlads did something crazy and novel, they kept their word. As a day one backer of early access I am so f***ing happy to play this game in full. Thank you to Larian for 3 of my favorite games of all time.

Really good fun game however, it definitely needs an unlimited mode. The missions are nice but a little repetitive.

This may have been talked about already however I'm not in the discord or anything like that.

P Gud but as lord and savior Dunkey said, the person in charge of balancing late game and pvp didn't show up for work.

10/10 Do recommend. Still waiting on bloodborne follow up though.
