I've been wanting a game like this for a while. However, I have a few main gripes with Lanesplit.

Firstly, this game is really clunky. Twice within thirty minutes of playing my motorcycle went airborne off of road imperfections and then i was soft locked permanently on the guardrail until a restart.

Secondly, the content is lacking. There are only 3 maps (Atlantic City honestly shouldn't even count because of how bad it is) and the amount of motorcycles also is lacking.

Thirdly, the price is a big issue in my opinion. $18 is just too much Even on sale the game is $14 and you can get motorcycle games with much more and better content than whats provided here for that price. To be honest if this game was half the price I wouldn't have such a problem with the lack of content or the clunkiness.

I feel like this game either should have been released as an "early access" title for much cheaper or should have had more time in the oven. I will definitely watch the games development and see if things improve and if more content is added. However, I think as of now the game isn't worth it in its current state.

This is genuinely one of my favorite games of all time. The story is impeccable and its tackling of grief is heartbreaking. Also, the soundtrack is one of the best I've heard from the game and the art directions is amazing. Genuinely loved every second of this game and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it.

This game taught me a valuable lesson. That lesson being to never preorder a game again. Definitely should've waited for others to get hands on first

The core gameplay is amazing. This launch is by far the smoothest I've had from a battlefield with no bugs, crashes, or stability issues. The game runs great and looks amazing. The only problem I have is content.

The game doesn't have enough vehicles, weapons, or maps right now. Especially when you compare it to previous titles in the series. Hopefully the post launch updates are really good and can make up for the less than stellar amount of content on launch. But overall I still really enjoy this game and thinks its worth a shot. Reminds me of the good ol' days of BF3 and BF4

My Overall Score

65/100 (B Tier)

Pros 🟩
  • Progression is solid. Allows you to feel like you are getting stronger every run.
  • Gameplay is solid for a mobile port
  • Graphics look really good considering this is a remake of a mobile game (Just in 3D)
  • The price is really cheap and is reasonable given the level of content.
  • Works great on steam deck and is fun

Cons 🟥
  • Balancing is a mess
  • Map is the same every run which can get boring
  • The achievement grind is incredibly mind numbing

Conclusion:

Zombieville 3D is a great port of the Zombieville mobile games. The one big difference is obviously in the visuals since this game is 3D. However, I think this works in the games favor and makes it look a lot better. Gameplay wise, this game doesn’t have a lot of depth. The mobile games didn’t either. It's a solid game to play in the background, but if you are expecting it to be a deep experience you will be mistaken. The reason for this is because the game has little variety in enemies, weapons, and the map is the same every time. This means after about 6 hours you have basically experienced everything the game has to offer. Now, that's not a bad thing because the game is only $10, however it is worth noting when setting your expectations.

Also, the game has a really big balancing problem. This may not be an issue to many of you, since the game is singleplayer, but melee weapons absolutely dominate. You can afk in a corner with your trigger taped down and you will stay alive with the right upgrade path and melee weapon. And due to the severe ammo limitations, it makes this strategy even more viable.

Outside of this and the lack of content, I think that the game is really solid. Kills feel satisfying, progression is rewarding, and it's just a fun game to boot up when you have 30 minutes or so to kill. It's also a whole lot of fun on the steam deck if that is something you care about.

My Overall Score

68/100 (B Tier)

Pros 🟩
  • Atmosphere is really unique. The idea of a first person RPG where you play as a fly fighting other insects is a unique twist on the genre.
  • The art style is very different from the norm. I’m a big fan of simplicity but some may not like it.
  • The game's music is solid.
  • Level design is a real strength here. Each nook and cranny serves a purpose and it continues the ideas from the From Software games like bonfires and locked doors acting as checkpoints.
  • I like that the game rewards you for exploration by giving you cool items.
  • Combat is solid. There are a ton of weapons with different attack patterns and all the enemies have different attacks that help to keep encounters unique.
  • The price is really cheap and on sale you can get it for even cheaper.

Cons 🟥
  • Boss fights are really lackluster. They repeat the same three attacks and once you fight them once you’ll be able to beat them REALLY easily.
  • Fishing feels like it serves no purpose other than to pad achievements. I played the entire game and never ate fish once. Kind of reminds me of consumables from soft games.
  • Could’ve benefited from a longer run time with more content. (It's only about 2.5-3 hours long)

Conclusion:

Overall Fly Knight is a really fun indie title. The boss designs are a problem in my opinion. They don’t really offer much difficulty and typically with games like this the boss fights are what peak my interests. And I do wish that this game was longer with more content because I think it could’ve been a legitimately interesting game. However, I think the rest of the pros in this case, way outweigh the cons. The atmosphere and art style are completely different from anything I have experienced before. The level design is amazing and is likely my favorite part about this game. You get rewarded for exploring and doing so feels fun. And the combat is solid. I’m really looking forward to seeing what this developer does in the future and I think there is some real potential here if we were to get a spiritual successor.

My Overall Score

60/100 (B Tier)

Pros 🟩
  • Game sounds are satisfying. Every hit and collection of loot feels super nice.
  • The game's music is amazing. But it can get repetitive.
  • I love the upgrades as well. You really start feeling overpowered as you progress through.
  • The game doesn’t overstay its welcome. The game is the perfect length because the game's simple mechanics would likely begin to become repetitive if the game was longer.
  • The gameplay is fun
  • Interesting art style even though I wasn't a huge fan myself.
  • The price is really cheap and on sale you can get it for even cheaper.

Cons 🟥
  • There aren't any high resolution options and display settings are lacking.
  • The gameplay can get repetitive towards the end, depending on your playtime.
  • The lack of skill expression or any need for strategy is not my thing. (Your performance is mainly held to the rolls you get until late game where you dominate without thinking)

Conclusion:

Dice people is a solid game for the low asking price of $2.99. It’s definitely worth your time if you enjoy games like this where you can turn your mind off and enjoy while doing something else like watching a show or a YouTube video. This game's huge reliance on luck means that you can enjoy it without having to try hard or have good gaming skills, which could be more up your alley or less depending on your gaming background. Just go into it with tampered expectations and you’ll have fun. Remember, the game takes about 1-3 hour to 100% complete depending on your choices early on. If you go in with that understanding you will not be disappointed and you will likely enjoy yourself.
