Its about as shallow as it gets, from the characters to the story into its combat system, its just plain.
the only thing this game has going for itself is that its combat is flashy and most of the effects look quite good. sadly this makes most combat quite hard to read it really doesn't help that most attacks look the exact same wether used by an enemy or ally

the side quests seem to mostly be as simple as: gather x amount of resource or kill x amount of enemy.

the camera being halfway up your ass and assets popping in right in the players face even in its less cramped maps make these even less fun to complete.

overal i wouldn't call it straight up "bad" but its really not worth your time,
unless you are really into mediocre AJRPG's you're not missing much

overall manages to play worse then Mercenaries not to mention it runs horribly almost regardless of settings. barely managing 60fps on a 3070. lacks overall polish and the character writing is absolutely horrible. overall a straight downgrade from its predecessor

Lets start of with 2 things. 1) this game is not for everybody 2) this is the best mech game i have ever played
let me explain.
AC6 might not be from the same team as elden ring or dark souls, but it 100% has that fromsoftware feel, the game is "hard" or atleast it has a fairly steep difficulty curve and its absolutely not for everyone but, if you like mech games and don't mind some challenge or if you are a fan of other fromsoftware titles i 100% recommend this game.

while i don't have that much experience with different mech games i have tried quite a few, and from all i have played Armored core 6 is easily the best one, from the absolutely buttery smooth combat and its boss fights to its great customization system, every weapon feels unique and every part has a purpose/niche. the missions are all good fun and the 2 new game+ runs you'll have to do to fully complete its story feel just different enough that, if you like the game are absolutely worth playing through without feeling repetitive, the story is great and overal doesn't overstay its welcome.

since playing and fully completing this game there is no other that can scratch this itch, this game has been an absolute blessing upon my mech loving soul, but also a curse as i have yet to find another mech game this fun and this good.

I tried to like this game, but its just far to shallow, missions are repetitive, mech customization and the weapon options are to shallow to even look like a puddle, ranged combat is utterly boring and any attempt at melee is instantly disappointing the second you realize that any mech on mech melee is just a button mashing mini-game every time you "clash" there are some seemingly interesting systems here but are to shallow or boring to be interesting or impactful. and i wont even get started on the story or its characters cause those are just a hot pile a dung.
overall one of the most disappointing and boring mech-games i have played.
