As a C:S1 player, I WOULD recommend this game based on concept alone.
**My current play through is at Milestone 12, population 56,000**

However there are a LOT of things wrong with this game, and a lot that they did right.

1. Performance is a huge issue and I've had to change settings far beyond recommended just to get it at a playable level.
*As you get further into the game performance does drop further*

2. There isn't much 'life' to the game. CS1 assets felt much more lively with kids playing in parks, firefighters actually hosed down burning buildings instead of just driving into them and back out, etc.

3. Public transport tools, in my opinion, were a lot easier and simpler to use. I have really struggled at times to use them.

4. Glitchy as all hell.. SOOO many cosmetic glitches or glitches that simply don't allow me to destroy taxi or bus shelters from the side of streets without destroying the entire street and replacing. Why? Who knows.

5. Every time I Shift+Tab there's a chance my keyboard randomly disconnects from Cities (and ONLY cities, still works on every other application) and I'm forced to completely reload.

6. "Rent Too High" as well as people complaining of low healthcare despite availability being through the roof - same with crime rate (had crime rate of 1% and full coverage, they still complain of it being unsafe). How to fix any of these things? No clue. The game doesn't tell you so you're left with abandoned buildings and complaining citizens.

7. A lot of the assets have the same skins. There isn't much diversity and can look quite boring.

8. Really inaccurate info. Clicked on a household and the only residents were a pet and a child. ?? Have seen other reviews saying there was a child CEO.

Things I DO enjoy

1. updated road tools are great! easy to use and much more functional.

2. Assets feel a lot more true to size.

3. New progression system feels a lot more rewarding. Having to unlock with progression points is a good take on it.

4. Info panels and UI feels easier to navigate once you get used to the change from C:S1. A lot more info and stats available too which makes it feel more like a management game rather than just a city builder.

5. Really enjoy being able to import and export water and power. Great way to make extra money later in game or save money early game.

6. Water is both better and worse at the same time. Have weird water rising glitches out of nowhere that don't go away or dry up, but it also doesn't freak out when you terraform causing mini tsunamis now like C:S1 did.

Game needs a LOT of polishing but at it's current state it's good. Could be a lot better but it's good.
