大多数人对伊朗并不关心，伊朗对大多数中国人来说只是“中东一个被美国制裁的国家”，就像很多国家看朝鲜或缅甸一样，模糊、遥远、不关我事。

就算有立场但框架在国家层面的人，虽然并不真的支持神权，也未必认同宗教管制女性，但是他们支持的是反干涉、反制裁、反西方单边叙事。伊朗首先是一个被压迫的国家，其次才是一个内部有问题的社会。所以他们对“头巾抗议”的反应往往不是赞同神权，而是警惕西方借人权议题进行政治干预。

最后才有一部分是明确站在伊朗抗议者一边的人，通常是城市青年、女性主义者、世俗自由派，他们更容易从个体权利而不是国家主权去理解世界。
