overpromised and then underdelivered. instead of adding content they added cosmetic and arguably overpriced dlc, slapped a 1.0 sticker on the game while changing nothing.

megabonk is a game i want to like. The characters, movement, music and overall vibe of the game is great. The balancing isnt. the game is genuinely so poorly balanced past stage 1 and the game is so so terrified to make you feel remotely strong without the stars aligning to the point where it becomes so incredibly frustrating. The game is also bogged down by its terrible bosses with genius ideas such as: "what if we made mitrhix risk of rain without any of the things that made that fight well designed" and "what if we made a boss' attack force you to break line of sight in a flat desert map!". I hope that in a few months i can update this review to positive as alot of it (apart from the bosses) would be numbers tweaks but forcing myself through bad design choice after bad design choice to sometimes play a game i like is incredibly jarring.

new update makes the game run even worse than it already did which is a shame because otherwise its a great game with alot of love put into it but arrowhead i beg shrink the 140 gigs down and optimise it a bit more

this game dying a 2nd time makes me so mad. the devs abandoned it and its very obvious now that the game was a cash grab for people who missed gigantic. ♥♥♥♥ this game. just play deadlock instead

i have no lifed the game completing low and high rank with all but the fishing side quests finished and i can say its an good game but at the moment it is bogged down by its horrible performance and crashing issues. I have a strong rig and shouldn't need a NASA supercomputer to hit 60fps on high settings. will update my review to positive when the game sorts its performance issues out because this is unacceptable for a company as big as capcom.

i played the itch version of this game while on shrooms and it was a great experience. replayed it now that it dropped on steam and i still think its a great experience :)
