Early Access Review
From a new player POV

Since I bought this game 02.05.2018 I've literally not played anything else. This coming from me, a person mostly loving and excelling at shooters. I've NOT played a lot of sandbox games, and I must say there have only been a few that have actually captured my eyes. In fact, the only sandbox games I have played are Minecraft around five years ago, Terraria for about ten hours, and most recently ARK: Survival Evolved. I started becoming sick of the games I was playing, and went out on a quest to find a game that I could buy and enjoy, and ended up randomly stumbling onto this game on some random website I don't even remember anymore. After a lot of YouTube videos and reviews I went out on a limb and bought a founders package. I wanted to share my views and opinions on this beautiful game made by non other than Bossa and why I do recommend this game.

1. Grappling Hooks

I think this is pretty self explanatory.

2. Endless creativity

I'm not only talking about the fact that you can customize a ship, or airplane, or whatever you want to call it to perhaps basically anything with some limits. I'm talking about this quote right here.

Yes. You think the islands you have been visiting lately are lacking in one way or another? Download WA Island Creator and the only thing that limits you is your imagination. All the islands you end up exploring in your journey are all made by other players as yourself. This, in my opnion doesn't only make a game amazing, it creates a tight knit community.

3. Physics

Glide, grapple and watch ships literally blow up into pieces as you shoot at them. Playing this game you're truly going to understand that it isn't the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end. You've got weight, and other factors like power that all play into how fast (or slow) your ship is going to be. And in a world where PvP is always just around the corner, all of that matters.

4. PvP

Sure, the gun shooting could use some work. But, this game is all about ships. And as mentioned above, other ships are always just around the corner. Sometimes you make friends, friends who help you over your first windwall, or help you get your first engine. On the other hand you could meet pirates. People who will blow you and your ship apart for a hundred iron, or just pure satisfaction. This is where numbers help, and why this game is best enjoyed with friends. Power in numbers.

5. Knowledge/Windwalls

Instead of going for the regular EXP and leveling system, Bossa have chosen a road less traveled. You have knowledge (books > lamborghini) which you gain from discovering different items spread around several islands, and then use this knowledge to upgrade your ship. Whether it is for better engines, wings or more weight, knowledge matters. When you feel like you have upgraded your ship enough, you can attempt crossing a wall. As of writing this, there are three different walls. Wind, Storm and Sand. Wind being the easiest one and Sand being the most difficult. Crossing one is difficult, but very rewarding. This gives a huge feeling of satisfaction. Especially the first one.

6. Early Access

Currently in Closed Beta, going into Early Access 17th of May. I know this is mostly a negative loaded word because of other game titles. Yes. You do get bugs. Devestating bugs like engines falling through the floor and so on, but this isn't about that. As mentioned earlier. A community crafted MMO. You can decide which way the game goes, and where it turns out. I don't think I've ever seen a game with this much potential ever, and how the game turns out, is up to us. The community.

This coming from an FPS junkie, now a Worlds Adrift addict, you will not regret getting this game if you've loved sandbox games. And if you do, there is always that refund button. Nontheless, watch some videos and get a feel for the game.
