Galaxy Commander: Is the game good my Khan?
Khan: Aff, It is good. But, there have been some......irregularities with which have been showing up that are hard to not notice.
Galaxy Commander: But, you made sure the Scientist caste worked with the best tech we had to offer! Clan Unreal even lent us their new technology! They will rue the day they sullied the name of Clan Smoke Jaguar! They will....
Khan: Silence!
We have the Programmer caste working on fixes even now as we speak. The fact that we had some of these issues is enough of a setback is enough. We can ill afford another embarrassment to the Grand Council such as this!
As it is there are things here that need some work and we will start with those and move onto a list of the positives Quiaff Galaxy Commander?
Galaxy Commander: Aff, my Khan
Khan: Currently the list of bugs that I have encountered on my own playthrough so far are. -grabs the data slate and taps a few keys to bring up his list-
Some sound bugs which is nothing major and can be fixed.
A few bugs with the Artificial Intelligence of the simulated points in my star with path-finding, targeting priority and acting as pop up targets to block my shots. Playing with fellow Clan kin makes the experience much more enjoyable here.
Some bugs mid mission in multi-player that cause the mission script to break. Though it could also be that Sakhan Weaver is just lazy and expects her subordinates to do all the work while she prances around in her Timber Wolf acting like a Jade Falcon preening her feathers and screaming at the top of her lungs anytime someone dents her precious 'Mech. I do not know. There are a few bugs leftover from that Inner Sphere propaganda game such as when you restart a mission it will change the 'Mech the players are controlling which is annoying is it not?
Galaxy Commander: Aff, My Khan.
Khan: Thought so, now these are just the bugs encountered so far. Moving onto everything else.
The graphics work and the game looks good. I could wish more from the damage models but, What we have is far more palpable than a Surats backside.

They do the job.

The weapon effects look great and the sounds are vastly improved. ESPECIALLY the Autocannons and Gauss Rifles. We must bring honor to the Bloodhouse of the sound designers responsible for showing the might of Clan technology.
The interior sounds of the Mechs are great, the sway of the cockpit, and the effects of the 'Mech venting when you push it past 80% on the heat scale is awe inspiring. The feel of piloting one is great indeed. My one major gripe is when you push the heat past 100% you do not shutdown instead your able to move around still till you 'Mech cools past a certain point.
That is anathema to everything Battletech and while it makes sense from a gameplay standpoint I feel it sells the "rules" of Battlemech technology short. Moving on to the next major part of the game.

The Mechlab. -The khan looks up to the assembled Clansmen and women in the hall with him and sighs audibly-
Who in their right mind made something so convoluted as this. What freeborn laborer was put in charge of this drivel? This game could have VASTLY simplified here and this was a drastic waste of resources. There are far too many menus and submenus in customizing your mech alone. Rather than keeping what made the previous piece of Inner Sphere propaganda good in the mechlab department it all got thrown out. The way you have to create colors for your Mechs is annoying to the point of just not wanting to do it! -The khan slams hid fist on the holotable.- This whole bloody things needs to be examined and re-worked. It is confusing and convoluted. However, at least it is functional and that for now is enough. Hopefully the scientist caste is working on a patch for this.

The game needs optimization and some tweaks there to make it not chug on lesser machines. As it is now I feel like Ark: Survival Ascended has a competitor in the framerate department. Which is not good. Quiaff?

Now my criticisms are harsh and here is what this council has assembled for. Can I recommend this for consumption within out Clan? Marginally yes. Right now I rate the game at a 75-79% and can be recommended. It needs some work and a few patches to bring it up a bit and iron out the bugs. It was made with an eye for detail to the Battletech universe and the presentation is spot on.
Also because it annoys several of the freebirth scum reading this. Honor, Honor?, Honor!, Honor..., and with a side of Honor, Hold the extra Honor, Aff, Aff, Aff, Aff, Aff, and Aff. You filthy stravag surats.

(hope this made a few of y'all laugh. I had fun with it)

I love ARK. It's fun and a one of a kind experience that is as close to a survival MMO Jurassic Park as I'll ever get.

Overall it has got much better not quite enough to recommend but, tis getting there.

The positives. The game looks stunning even at medium settings. The water effects when just crashing through the water are jaw dropping. The new foilage damage and physics are cool and believeable. The new UI is cool. The building QOL improvements are top notch and the key feature of killing the parent and immediately imprinting on the child dino is awesome. I can't tell you how much of a freaking win this and a timesaver this is for me.

Combat has undergone some tweaks and I notice some things are easier while others are much more rough. It is a huge list and I'm here to review the game not bloody play the whole thing for you.

Good shmup with solid mechanics. Length is a bit short but, worth the price IMO. Weak points are music and some difficulty spikes. Other than that 4/5 for me.

Bought this for my kids. I play it more than they do. Seriously fun racer in the vein of Re-Volt.

It's not bad.
It plays like a cross between RUSE and World in Conflict so far.

Played a few matches and after asking several questions understood how to play better and to position things in a way that made more sense.

Had a particularly awesome moment in battle where a soviet tank play was pushing hard. and rolling through another players units like they were made of paper. I roll my Abrams around to the side as he over extended. 4 M1A1's vs. 9 T-80's caught unaware. I stillhad two Abrams left when the shooting stopped.
I watch as an A-10 flies overhead my tanks and unleashes several AGM-88's on an armored column that an enemy was trying to rush into battle. At that point I hear the rotors of the Apache I call forward arrives and starts to do what it does best. Destroy tanks and make anything on the ground have a really really bad day.
Overall the battle presentation is amazing.
I like the 80ies synthrock music and overall taking a moment or two to check out the tooltips and unit info can really make a difference.
Yeah it is early access. I'm sure once everything is over and done with it'll be more fleshed out. Overall I'm gonna recommend it due to future potential and the soundtrack being something cool. I look forward to updates and DLC. in addition to building my own decks of units.

Seen a lot of reviews blasting the game for the difficulty. This is a thinking shooter where memorization and planning are just as important as a quick trigger finger (or a slow one if your charging a 3-loop Wave Cannon) similar to how Dark Souls rewards observation, experimentation and action with success.
RTF2 does the same.
Bearing in mind that with 99 ships to unlock not all ships are created equal and some are awesome to play, while another shoots (good for clearing out enemies btw) fireworks or a giant honking cannonball. You got plenty to experiment with not to mention fine tuning your R-series craft for looks with a decently robust ship editor.

Music is techno-y with a few tracks that are really nice.

Graphics are what I expect and do the job. Though as noted in other reviews I'm thinking stage 3 was half baked or the fact that it is an AI lab the bydo are constructing said warships and it isn't done yet (shrug) Either way most bland out of the stages I've seen. The ship graveyard is an eye opener.

Controller support works well. Any mistakes I made was my own blasted fault and you get punished if you screw up and die. As it should be.

Overall. It's a buy for me. If your a completionist (basically this game boils down into Poke-Type gotta collect 'em all.) and want to unlock all 99 ships it's gonna take you some time. At least 40 hours of gameplay which would pretty much be an entertainment value of $1 USD per hour which is acceptable to me.

This is for: Fans of shmups, Folks who like difficult games, Gluttons for punishment, and Completionist.

This Isn't for: People who get pissed easily, People who hate shmups, People who hate punishing difficulty curves, and People who don't find enjoyment out of Dark Souls or other self-rewarding difficult games.

Awesome game. Plays like WoT or WoWS without trash microtransactions. Gameplay modes are semi-lacking but, pve content is fun.

If it wasn't for the server not having players in them and spicing up combat online. I'd say this game is perfect. The combat and everything for Early Access is incredibly polished compared to other EA titles. Even with what is around now. I love the feeling of taking off from a land base shooting up into the atmosphere at warp and then dropping out of warp right on top of an enemy base to engage right into the middle of a giant space battle. It's awesome so far.

Way better than most of the recent sonic games. Also way better than Sonic 06.
