The game was originally only playable with a PS2 controller, so the added feature of Mouse & Keyboard turned MGS3 Delta into a SLAUGHTERHOUSE on my first playthrough. After breezing through the story with the humble AK-47, The Sorrow's river of souls looked like a mosh pit.

Subsequent playthroughs to achieve higher stealth ranks felt more rewarding than vaporizing everything with Snake's new ability to actually aim. Completionists have much to enjoy from capturing and eating all of the various fauna/wildlife, to gathering the entire sizeable collection of outfits/disguises.

To me, the game itself has a similar vibe to RE4, in the following sense:
- Not entirely linear, there is side-pathing & backtracking
- Repeat playthroughs with entirely different stress levels depending on what "feats" you are attempting
- Game-changing unlockable items for accomplishing the toughest tasks
- New Game+ mode where you can use all of your fancy unlocks
- Collection/Record System for Completionists

As of 2025, the game is capped at 60fps. I had no issues maintaining the framerate cap of 60fps on Ultra Settings with an RTX 4090. A quick download of a third-party mod was needed in order to enable ultrawide 21:9 support. Non-rendered cutscenes remain in an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Best open-world "zombie" game ever made. If you bought the original game, you already know you love the characters, friendships, story and gameplay.

I just bought this to support Bend Studio and pray someday we get a sequel. Wish me luck on the Permadeath run!

As of the end of 2024, GSC Game World has patched the game into a good enough state to be worth its asking price. There are features still missing from the original trilogy, but STALKER 2 still manages to be a mysterious and frightening open-world experience full of life-or-death combat.

The game itself offers a breathtaking template of The Zone for modders to work with in future years and I look forward to seeing the massive overhauls we all know and love from the original games remade in this new Unreal Engine 5 adaptation of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

With thousands of hours in COH2, it's sad to see that yet another modern day gaming release is botched. A trend becoming way too increasingly common. Feels like 90% of games these days you buy, then sit around waiting for the actual game to be completed a year later. At least PC players can refund.

The UI in this game is its biggest downfall and makes for an unenjoyable experience. Can't select basic features like what difficulty of AI you want to fight against when matchmaking. Can't tell which team member is which, since it doesn't list the unit owner's names when you click on them or their base. Basic stuff from COH2 is missing. Also the extremely small amount of multiplayer maps is disappointing.

I'll change this review to positive once RELIC, like most gaming companies this decade, gets around to finishing their "released" game.

The amount of content and detail in this game is incredible. It feels like 10+ years ago where you actually received a complete package when you purchased a game instead of having to buy multiple pieces in order to complete the experience.
