Helldivers 2 is a masterpiece. The whole game has been crafted with love and care, which shows in every aspect of it.
This is the best online community I've ever seen and I'm proud to be a part of it. Together we defend democracy on all fronts!

Original Review. All of it applies in perpetuity:
Predatory corporate behavior is unacceptable and must be punished.
If Sony decide to force me to jump through hoops in order to play this game, i will have no other choice but to demand a refund.

Great survival strategy game! It feels satisfying to fight back hordes of monsters until you get overrun, then to get some upgraded cards and try to go a little further.

If you want a game about managing a space station with reasonable mechanics and a satisfying gameplay experience... keep on looking, because this aint it.
Simulation mode simply does not let you get anything done, because the starting funds are not enough to get the essentials set up and your 2 unfortunate astronauts end up dying before they can research something to save their sorry lives.
Sandbox is simply putting modules on the station, no game mechanics, no nothing. Like lego, but less satisfying.

And where the ♥♥♥♥ are the devs? When was the last time this thing was updated? All the issues I just listed could be fixed with minor tweaks to the game, if the devs decide to actually read any of the reviews and then do something about them.

Amazing game, proud successor to the series. Highly recommeded to newcomers to the Endless universe
It's even more beautiful than the first. Interfaces are fluid and easy to use, playing it is a relaxing experience.

The only minor things I dislike are the simplification of the combat system and ship building. First game had a rock-paper-scissors type of combat card selection, which is completely missing here and makes battles nothing more than "my ships are better than yours". The ship building in the first allowed for more freedom, this new locked hardpoints system is rather limiting, but that might be just an Endless vertaran complaining about how stuff are changing ;)

In it's current state it feels like a glorified chivalry mod, with far less diversity
You can bring only one weapon to battle, severly limiting your options during an encounter
Abbilities, while cool, are blocked 90% of the time, so we end up throwing fireworks at each-other
Everyone moves so damn slow... in chivalry you could at least sprint


I think this beta was released far too early.
