i have witnessed more then i ever wished to. and somehow all of it returns to the human condition. but i do not speak of that tender illusion of humanity that comes to mind when the word first brushes your ears. NO. i speak of its marrow. the silent, unadorned truth that sits cold and coiled beneath the skin. there exists no chapter in this long bleeding chronicle of life that has not been inked in violence. no page spared the quiet erasure of souls at the hands of other souls. even now, as you lend your ear to my words i am certain somewhere in the forgotten corners of this earth a crime unfolds. a life severed, a body torn, a throat burned, a skin peeled, a soul crushed and discarded and not even the corpse is met with mercy i understand these things may strike your ears as distant, but to my eyes, to the weary theater of my thoughts, they are familiar shapes in a well lit room. because i made a choice to step beyond silk draped fable of peace and love and place my faith in the bare, unforgiving truth of what it means to be human
