Enjoying it so far. I do wish there were better communication options in the game though other than just the ping system. I think pings are fine if you get grouped with people that are actively using them, but atm lots of people are disregarding your pings while also not setting their own pings.

Dark Souls 2 is the equivalent of signing up for a marathon, only to find out the finish line is a pit of despair, and every step you take makes you want to throw your controller out the window. You’re cursed, and by the end, you’ll wonder if the real curse was the time you spent playing.

Combat:
It’s fine—if you enjoy slowly dying over and over in increasingly creative ways. You’ll master the art of rolling and dodging, only to get one-shotted by a giant turtle wielding a tree. Fun!

Level Design:
It’s like a maze designed by a sadistic god who really wants you to get lost. Backtracking? Oh, you’ll backtrack. A lot. By the end, you’ll forget what you were doing in the first place. Just like life.

Story:
You’re cursed. You’re always cursed. There’s no happy ending. It’s like reading a self-help book written by an emo teenager. At least it’s consistent.

Bosses:
Some are epic, others are frustrating, but all of them are here to remind you that you are insignificant. Nothing like dying to a giant lizard with a bad attitude to really make you question your life choices.

Conclusion:
Dark Souls 2 is a beautiful, brutal reminder that life is pointless and we’re all just one bad roll away from death. Will you finish it? Maybe. Will you regret it? Definitely. But hey, at least it’s fun in a "why am I doing this" kind of way. Play it if you hate yourself—it's an oddly satisfying kind of torture.

To be real, I kinda love the game. It is a pain in the ass though.

Early Access Review
Path of Exile 2 builds on its predecessor’s legacy, offering players an action-packed RPG experience with deeper systems, darker lore, and—let's be honest—a giant crab in the item shop. This crab is one of the most spectacular things about the game, priced at $26. Personally, I believe it should be at least $1000, but for now, it’s a steal. As someone who deeply appreciates crabs, I’m genuinely excited about this addition. If you're like me and have a love for crabs, this is a must-buy.

But beyond the crab, let’s talk about the game itself. Path of Exile 2 isn’t just about crabs—it’s a deeply immersive game with amazing graphics, a rich story, thrilling gameplay, and exceptional class customization. Here’s a breakdown:

Graphics: 9/10
The visuals are stunning. The environments are incredibly detailed, and the character designs are sharp. The lighting and animations really shine. And let’s not forget, the giant crab model is an absolute masterpiece—worth the price of admission alone.

Story: 8/10
The game weaves a dark and compelling narrative with lots of rich world-building. The quests are deep and meaningful, though at times, the storytelling can feel a little drawn out. Overall, it’s a solid story that does a great job immersing you in the game world.

Gameplay: 9/10
Combat is smooth, satisfying, and full of variety. There’s a ton of customization in terms of skills and character builds. The difficulty scales well, making every battle feel fresh and rewarding. You won’t get bored, and it’s fun experimenting with different strategies.

Class Customization: 10/10
This is where Path of Exile 2 truly shines. The class system is incredibly deep, offering so much room for experimentation with your character’s skills and passive trees. Whether you want to be a tanky brute or a spellcasting genius, you can shape your character to fit your playstyle perfectly.

Obscure Criticisms:
While the game is largely fantastic, there are a couple of things that bother me. First, the shadows in the character creation screen don’t quite line up with the lighting, which feels off considering how polished the rest of the game is. Second, the soundtrack can feel a little too grandiose at times—it’s as if the composer was determined to make every track the most epic thing ever. A bit more subtlety could’ve worked wonders.

But honestly, none of these small issues detract from the real star of the show: the giant crab. It’s not just a pet or mount; it’s a giant crab! This alone is one of the biggest selling points for me. The game is good, but the crab takes it to legendary status.

Overall:
Despite a couple of minor obscure nitpicks, Path of Exile 2 is an incredible experience. Whether you’re diving into dark dungeons, crafting the perfect character, or just enjoying the glory of your giant crab, the game is a huge positive. If you enjoy action RPGs and have a soft spot for crabs, this is absolutely worth your time.

Runs great on the Steam Deck. Getting steady 60 on high settings.

I've played through a quarter of the game on the PS5 and loved it.
