Lots of fun. Feels a lot like Quake or Doom in terms of gameplay. Also includes some rather funny one-liners at times. Looks and plays really nice as well. Oh yeah, and it's Linux native.

Definitely a good recreation of the original games. The fact that it works nearly perfect on Steam Play (Proton) is just icing on the cake.

Visually beautiful game and the controls are nice. The largest disappointment was being unable to eat bunnies, though. Just let me be a fox already!

True story...

Added my brother into the game as a custom character. He gets picked up by a party of three. They then all encounter a siege and all but my brother (named Dead Man) die. Next loot phase, he finds a machine, which I have him enter. He comes out with stat boosts and is now a dog. He manages to finish that loot phase without dying.

Game indicates everyone is dead... but wait, there's still a dog. My brother turned dog then focuses on going to Canada and proceeds to DRIVE THE CAR.

Next, we encounter bandits. Bandits let brother pass because, oh, he's just a dog.

He then proceeds to pick up a person before coming across a cabin with a chainsaw, which he proceeds to pick up (being I'm controlling him) and starts killing zombies with a chainsaw while walking on his hind legs.

If this wasn't enough, the next loot phase, he finds a blowtorch and lights himself on fire by accident, killing himself.

I have never laughed this hard playing a game.

10/10, would endlessly die traveling to Canada again. Great game.

Ok, this is not something I want to do, but I'm not going to sit idle if the developers are.

As far as the game is concerned, it's fine. It plays nice, and such... On Windows.

I, however, use a Linux PC. Primarily one that is 64 bit in nature. Switch Galaxy Ultra, despite having a SteamOS logo and "Linux/SteamOS compatibility", doesn't even get off the ground on my Linux PC. Why? Well, if you look on the forum, you might find a post regarding how 64 bit Linux distros are failing to run this program due to missing libraries. The game is looking for 32 bit versions of said libraries instead of the 64 bit versions that may ALREADY be installed on said system.

This has been going on since the game was released. The developer is aware of the situation, but have yet to patch an update. There have been no updates as to its progress since I brought it to their attention.

As it stands, if a user wants to fix this, they can just download the 32 bit .deb files and extract them to the game's library directory, which does make the game work. (This was also detailed in the forum post.) Developer has not reacted to the findings.

I will admit, I did get this game on a sale where it was at a discount. However, I did get DLC with it. None of it works on my Linux PC.

So, as a result, I did something I really DIDN'T want to do... and I installed the game on my Windows PC and played it long enough to leave a negative review. It has been months since I brought the issue to their attention. It has been since the game was released that it has been broken on ALL 64 bit Linux distros. I tried giving them ample time to fix their problem, but not one peep has been made about it. It's a real shame, too.

Now, should they fix it, I'll be happy to reverse my recommendation upon testing on my Linux PC. I WANT to give a positive review. I want to support Linux developers. Unfortunately, when the developer doesn't develop their game past a broken state, I can't honestly support the developer's work. If they were honest with their Linux release, it would at the very least work on all forms of SteamOS distros, including the 64 bit version. Since someone using the 64 bit SteamOS mentioned it didn't, I'm going to have to leave a negative review for now. Here's hoping they fix the issue soon.

This game... just wow. Ok, lots and lots of good things, so this may be a while.

First of all, great work on the devs part. I've played their original Android version, which was fun. This definitely adds to it.

First benefit? Buying this game gives you the ability to play ALL plague times they've created for mobile without a paywall. You still have to unlock them in game (which is fair), but you don't have to pay anything extra for the unique strains they made after the start. Woo!

Next, the graphics got a beautiful upgrade, as did the interface. Everything you'd need to know are just a few clicks away. (Hotkeys in the game help accelerate menu traversal as well.)

Multiplayer co-op is absolutely fantastic. Difficulty and speed get kicked up just playing together. Even normal is HARD compared to solo, but there are also a lot of things provided to help out your partner. Games can get real intense real fast and if you don't watch what's going on, you get smacked around rather quick. The game mode does a wonderful job keeping everyone on their toes and makes communication very important. Done very well.

Have not tested vs, but that's ok. I'm sure I will soon enough.

Linux version is spot on. Well constructed and easily a solid buy.

Biggest selling point, though? The devs are ULTRA responsive. I don't know if they were already aware of it or what (no indication on the forums), but within 24 hours of reporting an issue, there was a hotfix out to fix it. They communicated with me on the forums and kept close watch on the issue asking if their patch fixed it (which it did). The polite and transparent actions on the forum leave me comfortable and confident that this game is not only good but will remain that way.

In short, BUY THIS GAME. It is worth every penny, even without being on sale. I thought its price point was a bit steep, especially since this game is more or less derived from the $2 mobile version, but the added content and extra work put into the game definitely add enough to it to make up the price difference. I'm not only happy with it, but happy enough to be interested in getting extra copies for some friends of mine. nDemic, excellent work!

Ok, going to preface this that the 'Yes' is under conditions. Now then..

This game has a very unique and enjoyable art style. The story is rather interesting to play through (and the extra details are going to be an interesting read; the historian in me is intrigued). The antagonist, despite being kinda monotone, does prove to be brutal and doesn't fluff about like most typical villains (a plus in my book). And the linux version, despite what I've seen read earlier, is fairly bug free and plays smooth.

Default controls could use a little work, but I think I saw options to modify them if you struggle with what they provide.

I also found that adding the mouse towards the middle as part of the controls can throw some off, especially since you spend the entire game to that point using the keyboard exclusively. (A swap key being mapped to a button on the mouse has also proven to make some of the later parts rather frustrating, but not unmanageable.)

The only major complaint is how painfully short the game is. Even with fumbling around and having to stop and pick the game back up after a few minutes because of issues unrelated to the game, I finished it within approximately 2 hours of playtime. For a $15 game, that's not a lot of value there. There's a lot of nice stuff in the game sure, but a $15 price tag hardly seems worth it.

So, do I recommend the game? Yes. At the $15 price point? No. Get it on a sale. At the writing of this review, Humble Bundle has it in their current Indie Bundle and you can pick it up on the cheap with a bunch of other games. Obviously, this is not going to last forever, so if you would like to experience the game, that's a good way to do it.

The only complaints I have is that the game is kinda short (or feels short since you only get about 4-5 general zones to explore and solve puzzles in) and that the inventory window disappears after a while. It also doesn't ever come back if you have saved the game after it has gone away. (You can still access it via the inventory key "i" on the keyboard.)

Music is different, but enjoyable, story is nice, and the graphic style is very reminiscent of the classic point-and-click adventures by LucasArts (that I greatly enjoyed as a kid).

If you like point-and-click puzzle adventures, this is a good buy. Otherwise, if you are just into a nice story, pick it up during a sale maybe?

This game is one I didn't think I'd like, but I find it surprisingly intriguing. After some play, I really enjoy going system to system blowing up things. I got a taste of completely destroying a planet, and now I'm just waiting until I can do it again.

Graphics are good, REALLY enjoying the music, and the gameplay has no hiccups. About the only complaint I have is having to use a different mouse than my trackball because it doesn't have a mouse wheel (and thus would not have camera control at ALL otherwise).

It's FFVII. The game being good isn't in question here. We're just looking at the quality of the port, which is solid.

The new launch menu for the game is far nicer than the old one. It's also far more capable. Considering it is more forgiving than the old one, it's a distinct improvement (one that was greatly needed.) It having all the patches and fixes is also a plus.

Back to the game, it's a solid buy. The price is good, even for the old title. Nostalgia is very strong. I still plan on playing it all over again.
