Early Access Review
at the time of writing. the connection issues are really bad. spent 3 hours in-game so cant get a refund. most of this time has been spent in a lobby with a black screen and 100% in the top right corner. only played 4 missions in these 3 hours so far... disappointing

[EDIT]:
154 in-game hours later..... and it still feels like we are playing a BETA version. Game has consistent CTD's and connection issues

[EDIT-July2025]:
Imagine purchasing and installing a 5080 just to experience a console port featuring an older version of the game with broken textures, lighting and sound...

FSX:SE - You put a lot of effort in, you get a lot of value out.

The best Airbus platform for FSX:SE hands down.

Only this Aerosoft package gives you the complete Airbus experience with weather radar, TCAS, interactive checklists with co-pilot assist(usually paid as an extra on other DLC aircraft), RAAS(it's included by default at no additional cost, but it can sometimes be included as a 'steam bundle' for use with other aircraft in your collection), external fuel planner software and additional HD textures from the Aerosoft Website. The customer service from Aerosoft is also 'First Class' pardon the pun.

If you want to see some proof look through my screenshots inside my profile.

It's a great aircraft for performing short to medium flights and can be as 'hands-on' or 'hands-off' as you prefer. Good for the casual simmer, but Great for those who try for 'ultra realism'. It's not quite at PMDG levels of complexity, but its a close enough for the average user.

PC Performance is good on my system, this aircraft has been on the market for many years and this has given developers time to tweak performance. It should be good to run on most gaming desktops built during the last 4-5 years. It runs well at most payware airports with 100% AI and max settings. The only issues I encounter are running out of VAAS memory at some HD airports like Aerosoft Zurich. But you can turn down in-game settings to fix this. 'SimWings Heathrow' and 'NewYork AirportsV2' work flawlessly.

On Summary,
It takes a good few hours to get used to the way you operate the aircraft, but it gets more rewarding with time. I can also recommend using a good FREE Flight Planning software (https://www.simbrief.com/home) to save you time programming a route into your aircraft. This will get you flying quicker, plus you can always read-up on the product manuals yourself once your are up in the air.
I have flown the PMDG777, PMDG747 and captainsim757 and always find myself returning to the A320/321 Product due to the completeness of the product/repaints avaliable.

NOW the caviates,
If you intend to purchase P3Dv4 or later in the near future then avoid buying this from steam. The sale price/bundle price may be tempting for some, but you will not be able to purchase the P3Dv4 upgrade package from aerosoft as it was not sold by them. To my knowledge they have never allowed this and never will unless you buy direct from Aerosoft. No more updates/improvements will be issued for the steam version.

Do not touch Aerosoft Zurich Airport v2 add-on with a ten foot barge pole.

Aerosoft are quite well regarded in the FSX world for producing top-class add-ons, indeed I own quite a few Airport sceneries from this publisher (EGLL, LGKO, ENTO and so-on).

So far my experience using this Airport has been dogged by problem after problem.
First off:

1) the Afcad and scenery performance 'tools' to adjust the scenery are not installed with the airport DLC. You actually need to be quite FSX savy and instal the software from the tools menu within steam - then copy files over manualy to your Aerosoft scenery (nothing said about this in the manual) only 3 pages BTW...

2) even after installing the tools and copying the correct files over, it turns out that some 'essential' .exe files are missing from the steam version all together... read-on for more.

3) the airport uses very high quality textures (all well and good...), but this means that you cannot run ANY 3rd party aircraft such as PMDG, QualityWings or even Aerosoft's own Airbus X Dlc without Vas OOM errors!
It's so frustrating that this would be put up on steam without the proper scenery tools to begin with, let alone only being able to use the default c172 at the airport.

I wish I had read the reviews online before i took the dive on this absolute waste of time and money. If id known i could have purchased this through aerosoft's own website with all the proper config tools to begin with I would not be writing this to begin with.

As it turn out the first version of this airport made by Aerosoft a few years ago ran like a charm, as others will attest to, but the steam version is unplayable 95% of the time.

Look online and read the rest yourself on the Aerosoft forums.
