Incredible game.
The art is extremely pretty, the animations are godlike and everything feels very fluid.
Game is just a joy to play and explore every nook and cranny of the map.
Combat and movement is snappy and a lot of fun, albeit a little clunky at times with the dash not always coming out and parries that need a bit of getting used to.
Music and sound effects fit very well to the setting.
The characters are likable and the story doesn't overstay it's welcome, it's a perfect length.
Very much recommended :)

Great demo, the atmosphere is incredible.

Combat is a little floaty and feels a bit delayed, but the devs have already addressed these and the changes will be coming in the full game from what I see.

Looking forward to it!

Man... this is a weird one...

On one hand I love the game. I love the combat. I love the exploration. I love the storytelling. But I just can't bring myself to love the game.

I feel like it's constantly pushing a needle up my arm with how horrible the economy is and how very little currency you end up getting. There's only a dozen enemies that even drop it in the first place (no, that doesn't even include bosses which is a totally baffling decision) and the amount you require to unlock benches (you heard that right), unlock fast travel points (yes...), buy things from the shops, even progress past certain points, is ridiculously inflated compared to what you're earning. All of that makes it so you have to spend a considerable amount of time grinding, which is the last thing I want to do in a metroidvania such as this.

The run ups to bosses are also atrocious sometimes. Not all of them, but quite a dozen. Why is this still a thing in 2025?

Those are my only two complaints so far, but man are they completely experience breaking (especially the horribly balanced in-game economy). Can't really recommend it in the current state unless you enjoy mindlessly grinding while doing something else on the side instead of actually enjoying a video game.

Short, sweet and to the point. Also extremely difficult, but not in an unfair way. Good stuff.

Not sure how to feel about this one honestly...

It starts off strong and mysterious, turns disappointing during midgame, then gets interesting again close to the end, and ultimately turns sour because of the weird choice scoring system it seems to have. Apparently everything must be either pure white or depressingly black with no nuances.

I liked the beginning and the speech near the end made me feel something though, so there's that I guess...

For those who come after...

Expedition 33 is an incredible journey in a world full of story, art and music. It's a gallery... It's a tour... It's an orchestra... It's a poem... But most importantly, it's a heartfelt story about coming to terms with grief and everything that comes with it.

Sandfall, thank you for rekindling my love for games, which I had thought was beginning to fade for a while.
