This is a perfect example of poor execution from an inexperienced dev.
An art game should never be lacking in mood or environment, because you're essentially risking the immersion.
Some examples are but not limited to:

• Telling the player to wear headphones, then having half of your audio assets (not including the music) sound like you used a laptop microphone to record.
  
  
• Every other level, you'll find something on par with "dank memes xddd". It's extremely cancerous when you're trying to keep a sad undertone to have "Meme Dream Team" smeared on a wall.
  
  
• Some level have some sort of latent meaning, and some don't. What you get is player not understanding what they're supposed to get out of the playthrough. Thankfully, you actually have a level where you hold the left mouse button so I can hear some exposition for three minutes.

The Good: The story is great, everything looks magical and beautiful, and the gameplay is actually challenging. Overall, one of those nice, single player games that you can get easily get hooked on.

The Bad: While the game little by little introduces new stuff for the player to use, it's not enough to make a game of 'The Floor Is Lava' interesting for 3 hours. The last level felt the worst, I was dragging on just for the story at that point.

The Ugly: Now that I've finished the game, there's something to said about unlockables in single player, story only games. UNLOCKABLES =/= REPLAY VALUE. Going through a story, but only scouting full levels for collectibles, or following along wih a youtube video for a good hour isn't fun, and in no way encourages anyone to replay the game.


7/10, take the platforming with a grain of salt when it becomes too much.
