This game is sick. Similar vibe and weight to Katana Zero with gameplay and story respectively, and one that I'd recommend to people who are into 2D platformers. Also got me emotional. Pretty short overall, but still worth the price tag. Also a sick speed game for those who're interested in that kind of thing. Would 100% play again on a different platform like the Switch, and one I'll be coming back to if I need a small game to mull myself over after something much longer. 10/10, huge props to the devs for this masterpiece

This is a game of survival. The goal is to get to the end. Nothing more, nothing less. This game may have a nice a cheery look on the outside, but once you jump into the fray, you have REALLY jumped into the fray. This game is just straight up BS because of it's incredibly unforgiving nature and lack of invincibility. Realistically, if you get hit once or twice, you are DEAD. Restart from the caverns with your four health, four bombs, four ropes and a DREAM. And that is what makes Spelunky, well, Spelunky! Regardless of the deaths, regardless of the restarts, regardless of the friend betrayals, this game is fun as HELL. This really is rouge-like taken to the next level. The fact that this game has random seeds makes the routing and resource management unique and honestly exciting! The different worlds, items, new and revamped enemies, mechanics, and endings just show how much love was put into this game. Mossmouth and BlitWorks took what was good about the first game and just expanded to a degree that was COMPLETELY unnecessary but absolutely appreciated (at least by us true fans). And co-op turns the game from brutal to DEAD UP HILARIOUS. Content with bad friends for this game is amazing just because you die in so many different ways so instantly, which comes full circle. The fact that it's BS hard makes the game what it is. Yes, I have pounded my fist against my table in frustration. That doesn't make the game bad. The fact that it is the way it is makes it all the more satisfying when you get that extra inch further. It might be painful, but it is incredible. 11/10 game, would recommend to EVERYONE (who can handle constant death and cults and blood lol)

The characters are all unique and fun to play, It's easy to pick up, It's friendly to all players in terms of gameplay and community, the mechanics and tech skill are super cool and easy to learn but can still be optimized to pro levels, and the visuals and music are incredible. This for me contests Smash, which is saying a lot.
