Nostalgia trip ruined by p2w.
Still a great game to this day though.

Cozy relaxing game. A bit repetitive at times and I wish gathering was a bit faster but overall a good game to just throw on something on ur 2nd monitor and serve some beer !

The sound effects make up for my time spent chopping 34,763 trees...

Started playing when it released on steam, easily one of my favorite MMORPGs.
- Good storyline
- Linear progression so if u stop playing for a month or 2, the gear you have will still be relevant
- End game is massive. Strikes/Raids/Fractals
- Best mounts in any mmorpg
- Always something to do

Played the game in Beta and it was broken as anything. Came back in grim sky. Started actually taking the game serious last season. Hit diamond im lvl 270 thousands of hours. I cannot reccommend the game after the rollout of the new season. Cheaters are in every other game you play. The bugs are horrible, and this is becoming more toxic than rust.

If you don't like grinding this game will NOT be for you at all.
That being said If you like grinding you will love this game.
Some key point to know
- It's very easy to get mid game gear now through season characters. Will take you about 3 weeks if your new to get to lvl 61 with Pen Tuvala gear ( Basically TET boss gear ) Compared to when the game first came out it took months if not years.
- Don't try to get into every aspect of the game all at once, Their are a LOT of life skills and other various activities the game will throw at you all at once. Don't bother untill you have finished your season character.
- Find a good guild!! Theirs tons out their and will help you along the way. ( plus u get passive buffs just for joining!)
-You can trial all the chars in the game and find what you like best. All characters are viable in pve so pick what you want. And if you decide at the end you don't like your character you can re roll it on season servers for free!
- Pvp is mostly end game. Joining an RBF ( it's like tdm ) with season gear will make you want to quit.
- The game has many catch up mechanics now. You get 2 free tet boss gear pieces for just finishing your season character. 1 free pen armour for doing the magnus quest line. And a free pen accessory ( worth anything from 50-70mil) for doing about 30 of grinding per day for about a month

The main take away. Try it out for awhile, if you like it stick with it. The game goes on sale often. The amount of rewards they give you through events, daily log ins, etc is actually insane. You will hit a point where you will either need to grind 5+ hours a day for things or grind enough to buy them. When you reach this point you can either switch it up and do life skilling, like horse training, cooking or farming ( many others ) or simply just relax and take things slow!

Don't go after everything at once!!! You WILL get burnt out.

That being said I highly recommend this game for the combat, visuals and just overall feel of the game!
