The playerbase is horrifically toxic and sweaty, and the developers don't listen to their own content creators nor know how their own game works. I cannot discourage picking this game up enough. Yeah, you might have an occasional fun match as survivor, but it is NEVER worth the frustration of everything else.

If it weren't for the devastation storms wreak, I'd be fine or even just ambivalent about this DLC. But unfortunately, even with techs to reduce said devastation, every single storm will wreck your planets, displace your citizens, and try and shrug it off saying "well at least now you have a super niche production bonus" that you cannot use anyways because all your citizens on said planets are unfathomably mad due to overcrowding because of devastation removing housing. The civics and origin aren't even all that good either.
Novel idea, beautiful gfx for the storms their selves, horrible execution. Maybe one of these days the Custodian team will make this DLC tolerable but until then, save your money and skip this one.

Looking past the constantly fluxing peaks and chasms of "we're so back"s and "it's so over"s, this is a great infantry combat sandbox. You can play with a ton of different fighting styles to varying degrees of success depending on where you take the loadout -- my two personal favorites are copious amounts of self sacrifice utilizing expendable weapons and bombs strapped to my chest and back, and another involving sneaking past literally every enemy ever, painting hostile bases with a target designator for a miniature nuclear warhead, and clicking on the heads of problems with high powered antimaterial rifles.
However you play, I can guarantee you'll make friends if you'll only allow yourself to.

If Steam displayed hours played for games on disc, this would be my top played game of all time. This kept me entertained through the financially lowest time of my life, where we couldn't even afford basic cable let alone the internet.
Plus it's one of the few good Star Wars games old enough that EA's grubby little hands can't slap DRM on it. That in itself is enough reason to recommend.

I just wanted to play because cute transgender character. Now one of my favorite video game characters of all time is a hulking soldier whose attacks revolve around his comically large hands and suplexing people so hard that they see Hindu Heaven and violently explode -- the opposite of who I came here for. Absolutely recommend, there's someone in this game for everyone.
